Where was your most romantic trip?

We have somebody with a nickname "Curious", are you asking him or everybody?

As a man, I usually don't think in terms of "romance". However, sitting at cafe at night in Paris with your lover, looking across the Seine while nearby an accordianist plays melancholy tunes will turn anyone to mush. It did to me.

Hmm..."romantic" and "trip" are two words that don't really go together for me, since most of my vacations are with my friends, leaving my poor bf at home because he has to work! When he and I go on vacation we usually do strenuous hikes...because it's what we love to do. NOT romantic though. All my romantic times with him have been strolling around NY on weekends. So of course this makes me feel like NYC is the most romantic place on earth!

Okay...we did take one trip where we spent a couple days in Prague and we rented a rowboat...THAT was fabulously romantic.

Here's my most romantic *moment* on a trip:

Canoeing with my DH on Morraine Lake in the Canadian Rockies, no one else in sight, looking up through the raindrops into a rainbow. Unforgettable.

New Orleans.

In Fiji, at Vatulele, being served a gourmet dinner with top class wine in a private gazebo on the cliff overlooking the pacific and my husband thought to bring a small CD player & put on Andrea Bocelli! Oh please! (After we had spent the afternoon on a private island!) All for my birthday.

1. Weekend in Shenandoahs in a cabin with working fireplace and really good wine.

2. Week on small island off Croatian coast, in a pretty room with a view of the little harbor village. Breakfast in the B&B, lunches = picnics of cheese and bread and wine purchased in the town and taken out on the rocks, from which we could swim, dinner by the water in a small bistro.

(and gojacks, would only a man make a comment like that?)

Meeting my dh in Portugal halfway through a long military deployment for him. We had not seen each other in months, and only were able to be in contact a couple times...so needless to say it was very romantic!

Traveling with my German buddy through Italy, Cyprus, Isreal, Lebenon, and Egypt. It has nothing to do with love!

Long weekend getaway - Napa Valley

During out 21 year marriage my wife and I have kept a list "Trips Like Honeymoons," simply because we got tired of saying a trip was "like a second honeymoon." The list is up to fifty, so we know a few things about romantic spots.

Beyond any question, our most romantic place was Hawaii.

Scarlett Nov 4th, 2004 04:48 PM

Paul Rabe- we have that list too! :)
I think when one is in love, romance happens easily wherever you are.
Most romantic is difficult to say, here is my list, sorry GT:)
* A villa in Jamaica with our own private beach.
* My first time in London
* My second time in Paris
* Montreal on our anniversary when it began to snow
* sorry, long list, I will stop here ((L))
