Comparing North Carolina Beaches

Switching gears back to the beach. We have been to Corolla in the Outer Banks and stayed in the Ocean Sands area and thoroughly enjoyed the wide beach that was never, ever crowded. Our dates are not matching up to book so I’m looking for information on beaches further south that would include but not limited to:
Surf City
Topsail
Wrightsville
Sunset
Atlantic
Ocean Isle
Holden
Carolina
Emerald Isle
Generally speaking which area might have less congested beaches and more home rentals then condos and villas?
Or the reverse- what areas to definitely steer away from?
As always, thanks for any and all tips and hints.

Comparing North Carolina beaches
Lots of views but no hints. How about any comments or information about Kure Beach?
Thanks for any input.

Our family members love Kure Beach. My impression is it isort of a more old timey place like we would love.
We used to spend our summer at Ocean Isle when it was uncrowded. There are beachfront homes (we rented one several years ago). The beach has been renourished and is wide. In season it can be crowded.
In SC we have a place at Litchfield by the Sea in Pawley's Island which being gated is somewhat restricted and isn't crowded. Pawley's Island also might be less crowded because it is very uncommercialized on the beach side.

Thanks, Gretchen for your input. We have landed on a property at Kure Beach with fingers crossed that it will provide a balance of not too crowded beach with some exposure to activities.
