Is this game going to finish while I still have some finger-nails ?
|
WHHOOOO WWHHHOOOO!! UNBELIEVABLE! =D> =D> **==
|
Caray. (just for the record). (And yes, I also go by the monikor SS, for the spelling snot).
I was a lifelong northsider and, of course, a rabid Cub fan (and still have several autographed programs with Ernie Banks, Moose Moryn, etc signatures stacked away somewhere). In October 1969, I vowed that if the Cubs made it to the Series that year (sigh), the child I was about to deliver would be named Ferguson Jenkins...whatever gender it was. But I'm so happy for Sox fans and for Chicago overall to be having this wonderful excitement! Go Sox! |
Oh tuckerdc, I too have always cheered for the Cubs- except at the cross town classic. My Dad is a life long Cubs fan and was at the 1945 Cubs World Series.
Na-Na-Na-Na! Na-Na-Na-Na! Hey, hey, hey good-bye! Na-Na-Na-Na! Na-Na-Na-Na! Hey, hey, hey goodbye! =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> Blum- "who would have thunk it". Houston, as sorry as I feel for your fans leaving with such bleary eyes, we opened the door for you so many times. 12 walks, and the errors. EEEEEKKKK! To those who asked this is what is happening in Chicago. The United Center is almost sold out already $15 a head tonight and all for charity (White Sox) with big teletrons to watch tonight's Game 4. Bridgeport Catholic schools will be having a day off. Parade plans starting. Multiple, multiple places, including one hillarious guy in my suburb, Tinley Park, have "stadiums" set out in the yards and they have moved some of the Little League and high school stadium stands over. This guy near me has three yards going with stands and they are filled. 44 degrees out. Mayor Daley will probably do the full ticker tape if we sweep. Sanitation workers, you are going to get loads of overtime. Also it should be noted that all of the proceeds from last night's game went to the Habitat for Humanity- Katrina victims in particular. Houston has wonderful people and tremendous big-heartedness. Go Sox! Go Sox! Go Sox! The media people now are going the "other" way- talking dynasty and comparing Buehrle/Garland to Gladden/Smoltz in their youth. GOOD JOB, GUYS. The team has officially been dubbed in the Southtown constant "The Wizards of OZ". |
I can't take much more of this-I'm in a coma at work today! GO SOX GO SOX GO SOX!!!!
|
That was supposed to be Southtown CONTEST, not constant.
Yup, swalter518 I'm wiped out too. This is going to be a lllloooonggg day. Isn't it hard on the nerves! Actually the Boston series was the very hardest on the nerves for me. Angels not quite as much- but still nervous and this is starting to feel not so nervous at all. All the forecasts about pitchers batting messing up the substitution line ups and Sox not being able to play National League Rules, I knew that was not true. I've heard that all before. I'm thinking I may change my Halloween outfit now. |
What're y'all doing for the game tonight?? We're headed over to dad's house for what I'm sure will be an exciting one. My AuntM is visiting from Cali so she's getting in on all the fun! I'll be sure to bring my camera for pics for our Chicago GTG, JJ. Dad was sure this AM's game was going to go Houston's way... surprise, surprise. >:D<
OK, let's win the World Series with 2 wins in ONE DAY !!!!! Bet no one has done that yet! Let's go White Sox, let's go =D> =D> =D> |
Lucky you!
We are spread all over for work. Does it tell you something about us that my sons took off days for Boston and Angels games (attended both series) but only one got to go to the World Series after it was all said and done. He went to Game 2- the grand slam game. Beyond my pockets, but also beyond our abilities to be away from work. One son is hosting a big party tonight, others all have kids/school/work and are just telephoning like mad. We are all having great fun. I tried to watch one with my Dad but he couldn't stay awake. He's 86 and not doing so good. Enjoy your time, and remember the bonds you form with those memories, always. Do bring pics at the GTG! |
JJ5: I was at one of the 1959 Series Sox games....so maybe that counts as a 'back at ya!'
|
woo hoo! a sox sweep!
