We love Cape Cod, we've visited there four out of the last five years, but always after Labor Day, because the rates really drop, and the crowds are less. We've stayed at Windy Acres Cottages which is in Chatham, don't remember exact rate, but reasonably. It was a cottage with 2 bedrooms, TV, fireplace, nice place, nice owners. We've also stayed at Cranberry Cottages which is on Rt.6 in Eastham, I think, OK place, but Windy Acres, I enjoyed better. But our favorite place so far to stay on the Cape has been Midway Motel on Rt.6 in Orleans, very nice place set in a wooded setting, nice rooms, excellant hosts, and great packages, although may be a liittle late for August booking. Have fun!!! And we are here if we can help more.

Cape Cod in the summer is wall to wall traffic, avoid Route 28, too many lights. Try to find a resort with restaurant and other amenities, beach, pool, tennis, so you don't have to go out for entertainment. If you can switch dates and go after Labor Day crowds and prices drop! Avoid Bourne and Sagamore Bridges on Friday and Sunday.

I think the place the person is talking about in Chatham is "Grassy Acres Cottages". Very reasonable $475.00 for a week. 2 bedrroom cottage with fireplace. Key to place is the owner.
Judy Byrne is great very helpful and friendly. Outside the main town-but very quiet and enjoyable.

Previous posts are right: change your plans to
after Labor Day when the rates drop. During summer
some places have 4 or 5 night MINIMUM stays. Go to
Provincetown and stay at The Brass Key, 9 Court St.,
508.487.9005. Trust me - you won't want to leave
this place. After Labor Day many stores are
preparing to close for the season and you can get
great bargains. Cape Cod is beautiful - you will
not be disappointed.
