BLIZZARD on the way

If you have not heard the weather report for this weekend, we are expecting a Blizzard on Sat night into Sunday and the forcast is 12-18 inches of snow.

If you are planning on coming to NYC this weekend, check with your airline or amtrack before you leave home, as the airports will probably be closed and amtrack may have to shut down with snow on the tracks.

So we're off to get milk and bread and cat food and candles, hey may as well make it a romantic weekend too.

Stay warm and have a nice weekend everyone.

stay cozy!

Same report here for Boston!

indytravel Jan 21st, 2005 05:02 PM

It's crazy the way people rush out for bread and milk when inclement weather is on the way.

You could get bludgeoned to death in Indiana in the bread aisle when there's a severe weather warning.

Personally when the snow flies and I'm stuck at home I bake my own bread. :-)

when the snow flies and I'm at home, I slaughter my own cattle

Same weather forecast here in the Philadelphia area. Everyone here just hopes it all clears up in time for the big play off game Sunday afternoon!
Go Eagles!!

78 today in Dallas - maybe it is a great tourist destination after all?

indytravel Jan 21st, 2005 05:19 PM

Whoa Elizabeth, that's excellent!

I've never butchered cattle but once back in the 70's my mom and younger brother did slaughter some chickens.

Their description was nasty enough I've always bought them at the meat market ever since. :-)

Elizebeth is one tough dame :)

Scarlett Jan 21st, 2005 05:38 PM

I will be thinking of you and sort of wishing I were there :)
I used to really like getting snowed in~

Elizabeth - a poster is trying to make the best of a serious snowfall, hats off to her.

North Jersey is definitely in line for the blizzard too!
Went to the grocery store and stocked up!
Also, got WINE!

Budman Jan 21st, 2005 05:50 PM

I live in Central NJ and went by the grocery store to pick up a couple of items to add to dinner. The place was crazy.

The store was out of bread, milk, and eggs. I guess people are going to be making one hell of a lot of french toast. ((b))

Annabel Jan 21st, 2005 05:57 PM

Long Island ready too:)

We're stocked up on wine, champagne, caviar, shrimp, hot chocolate, new 55 inch lcd hd tv,lots of firewood and pigs in a blanket. The snow thrower is all ready and set to go..

Hey if the theres going to be a blizzard you might as well indulge!

Scarlett Jan 21st, 2005 05:58 PM

Annabel, you are so kind!
Others speak of killing the cows and the chickens, you put your pigs in blankets :D
LOL

indytravel Jan 21st, 2005 06:01 PM

Pigs in a blanket? I was thinking of that scene from "Steel Magnolias."

:-D

Budman Jan 21st, 2005 06:08 PM

Snow thrower ready and set to go? Who's going to operate it. ((a)) ((b))

Patrick Jan 21st, 2005 06:10 PM

I know what you all are going through. Here in Naples, I had to put the top back up driving back from my Mom's this evening. Once the sun went down, it got chilly again!

cigalechanta Jan 21st, 2005 06:10 PM

I'm on my way, Bud, open the wine!

indytravel Jan 21st, 2005 06:18 PM

Oh Patrick, you're evil!

Sure it seems like fun and games in Florida until those big swirling storm-things come back. I'll take my bit-o-snow and a tornado or two in a flash. :-)
