Hey GatorGirl:

These people can say anything about Gainesville they want. When it's all said and done, we've got the same piece of paper they do, and WE had FUN.

Go Gators!

I am surprised no one has mentioned Missoula, Montana. Such a beautiful state and Missoula is in one of the loveliest areas.

Well, actually Mr Pre Med, I did have a GPA better than that (as if anyone other than you and the admissions committee really cares(d)) which is why I had the option of going to a wide variety of schools. I chose Duke (17 years ago) partly because of the beauty of the campus and atmosphere there. Which is really what this post was supposed to be about.
Now don't get all offended about Gatorville....you must keep a broad perspective and be able to laugh about it like your compatriot, Gator Girl.
My undergrad alma mater wasn't exactly the best college town in America, so I'm not even throwing that one on the table for discussion.

GatorGirl Jul 19th, 2001 07:42 AM

Now everyone knows how football obsessed we are in Gatorland......I work for two people, (I report directly to both) one is a Tennessee grad and one is an FSU grad.....we get absolutely nothing done between September and December. But we sure do have a good time doing it!

Amen agator2, we did have FUN and we also have the best stories to tell too!

Morehead State University - Morehead, KY

Some people attend just for the sweatshirts!!

But seriously, when I attended in the early '90s it was voted #1 party school in the nation according to Rolling Stone. Another nearby university, Eastern State in Richmond, KY consistently was voted #1 or at least in the Top 10 for many years!!

MaryC Feb 12th, 2002 05:13 PM

Excuse me, Eastern KENTUCKY University. Eastern State is a mental hospital in Lexington. Surely an easy mistake to make!!! ; )

Can't beat Austin. Best combo of nature, live music, educational opportunities and tolerance of all things different around.

Naw Feb 13th, 2002 04:06 AM

Skip Chapel Hill. It has a lousy basketball team, a lot of drunken fraternity types who clog up the downtown for any excuse, an airport in the middle of things just a mile from downtown, a bunch of liberal whiners and redneck libertarian reactionaries, and just three kinds of restaurants: burger joints, Mexican, and foody-fern sprout mongers.

Patty Feb 13th, 2002 05:46 AM

Providence, RI A city this size with more than 4 colleges, and 3 more in neighboring cities, makes for a great college town!
