I'm an occasional poster to this forum since I found it about a year ago. I'm a tax consultant in the NYC area and love to travel. I tend to work on projects for stretches of time. Once a project is completed, I hop on the this forum and others for some interesting?? reading and a break. I also hop on here once and a while for a lunch break laugh or afterwork comic releif.

I'm a psychotherapist. I use the information I get from this site as advice to my patients. I listen for a few sessions, and then tell them all that they are fine, but need a vacation. Then, I tell them where to go, and what to do while there.

Hey, it pays the bills!

I'm in sales for an internet related company. I'm online all day so it's nice to take breaks from cold calls, etc.

I work free-lance at several different jobs from my home. I am also a webmaster as one part of one job, so I am on the Internet quite a bit. Like the other posters here, I work intensely on a project for several hours and then take a break by checking this site (United States and Europe boards). The computer and my time belong to me. And that is also why I can travel when I want to, clients and family permitting.

Hi MM
There's the practical side of cosmotology, the hands on learning, and then there's the theory. Learning the chemistry, bacteriology, cells, anatomy, physiology, diseases of the skin and scalp, etc. This is usually the part of cosmotology that the students do not like.

Partime mom, when I'm not flying three year-olds alone. Dairy farmer, so it means early hours, but by ten I'm free to surf. Then it's pull some more, and by then the lights are coming on and it's time for Wild on E. We don't travel - cows just never take a holiday. But it's cream all the way. And we never run to the market for milk. Last night I saw FSU at Ybor City, spring break. I think the cows' time is numbered, and it's my time to hit the beach and party!

Since this x person knows everything and copies everything on this site, he thinks he is the greatest replier of posts ever. If you don't believe me whatch his posts and he is a New Yorker which tells you a lot but who cares. You all belivev everything he says.

I'm a wholesale importer from Orange County, CA. I travel a lot, like the advice here, and I also appreciate the humor and the trolls.

I'm retired. Grin... We've got two more years before my wife can do the same, so we travel as best we can in the interim.

I'm a Keys junkie. First found them about ten years ago, and make an annual week's visit every Jan.

Had a little place down near the DE shore, but we sold it when we found we weren't getting down there enough to justify the costs.

In the last couple of years, we've also done CA, MN (got a son up there,) Nantucket and Columbus IN (which I heartily recommend to any architecture buffs out there.) Upcoming before the end of the year is the Outer Banks and the Bryce/Zion area via Las Vegas.

I try to post when I can offer "value-added" information. We're budget travelers, so I might have a dollar-stretching hint on occasion.

I get a lot of info from this board, and I try to put some back in. And I google a lot. And recommend it to everyone.

And last but not least, I leave the laptop at home....

I run my own business from my home with my husband.
We have 4 children and started travelling when our youngest was around 3 and my mother-in-law volunteered to give us a break for a long weekend.
Now we book a trip away at least once a year, just the two of us.
Im on the faculty of a state university in the San Francisco Bay area. I enjoy the posts here because they are surprisingly witty and have saved me from many a travel mistake! Thanks for all your help!

I am a believer that all people should be able to correctly spell the name their professions.

It's COSM_E_TOLOGY!!

I'm a psychologist. I usually pour over Fodors while planning a trip so the forum changes. I love love love planning trips and I hate hate hate being on my treadmill, so I enjoy spending time on Fodors on both accounts. Look for me on Italy last summer, New York this Christmas, and...Puerto Vallarta where I go every year at the end of October to run continuing education workhops for other therapists- who probably come for the tax-deductible trip as well as my fun workshop and the 32 CEUs.

I am a teacher at a private school in Florida - soon to be an assistant principal (hopefully) when my degree is finished in May.

This place cracks me up and does provide great advice. I feel like I have to stick up for Florida most days because we truly are the freak show state.

I am not a regular poster but I do browse this site. Usually late at night as I work long hours as a Human Resources Generalist for a large bank. I do the hiring and the firing. I find this site and the posts very relaxing after a hard days work. My husband and I got married in Hawaii and this site was very instrumental in the places we choose to stay. I love to travel and really enjoy this site.

If you wan tto know about the regular posters read the thread entitled "Fodorites: Post you Bios" It's had a 100 responses from the regulars telling what they do!

Jen, Florida has nothing to apologize for. I've only been to a few places in Florida and found them all uniquely cool. I LOVE Miami, love the Keys, think that the upper Atlantic coast cities of FL are amongst my favorite places where I would choose to live outside of my native CA, and was supremely fascinated by St Augustine. All of these locales had their unique flavor, yet within driving distance of each other. Very cool.
|
Don't get me wrong - I love the place. It's just those silly voters and highway drivers.

Spell
You are, of course, right. How embarrassing.
