Thank goodness!

I'm on AOL but always use IE to access and post here.

Scarlett Feb 24th, 2007 08:05 PM

I am using a Mac and Firefox is the only way I could log in tonight.

:-?

Andrew Feb 24th, 2007 08:12 PM

My guess is that some browsers aren't going to work here for a while until you figure out how to delete the cookie Fodors saved on your computer earlier. As I said before, Firefox didn't work for me at all (to login or post) until I deleted the Fodors cookies; it's worked great ever since.

I am almost completely unfamiliar with Safari, but you could try this to delete the Fodors cookies:

I empty cookies every night.
Safari-System preferences, empty cookies, click! :)

suze Feb 25th, 2007 06:55 AM

Yesterday I DID empty all cookies and still it was giving me troubles. Today is OK. Seems I've been having issues ever since I (foolishly) downloaded Explorer 7 instead of continuing in version 6.

Andrew Feb 25th, 2007 07:22 AM

Last night I started having the same problems again (Firefox - same version I've been using for weeks). Deleted the cookies again, fine again. Seems that they are still having issues with something.

You are probably better off with IE7. My Mom has been using it for a while. IE6 after some updates from MS was giving her problems and IE7 fixed them.

Thank you Andrew. I guess I'll leave that part alone then. Much appreciated!

Aremorra Feb 25th, 2007 08:12 AM

I had an impossible time trying to post (have a Mac and AOL) earlier. Shut off my computer and restarted it and it seems to be working now.

mclaurie Feb 25th, 2007 08:31 AM

Problems starting again. Grrrrr.

marleneawe Feb 25th, 2007 08:33 AM

I did all day yesterday, could not post, could read but not post. It is working great today.

OO Feb 25th, 2007 10:54 AM

Have to log out, log back on and then if I'm lucky, I can get a reply screen.

cd Feb 25th, 2007 11:06 AM

I've had to log-in three times today, I keep getting 'logged out' ;-)

Dayle Feb 25th, 2007 01:51 PM

Not able to post yesterday or today until now. We'll see how long it lasts.

repete Feb 25th, 2007 01:57 PM

yeah, I hit reply and get a blank screen. I ended up double-posting four hours apart. Not a good think when you debating with a ..., well let's just say, a not very sharp poster

Arielle Feb 26th, 2007 05:01 AM

Thanks.... and I thought it was just me and my limited knowledge of computer stuff.

Hello!

We apologize for the hiccups on the forums this past weekend. We've trying to do a few necessary upgrades for the upcoming new daylight savings schedule. The time change arrives three weeks early this year thanks to a 2005 Energy Bill.

Unfortunately, the change requires a fair amount of spring cleaning and the forums have been affected. Things should be back to normal today. If you continue to have any trouble, please email us at [email protected].

Thanks for your patience and general high spirits!

TurnstileTraffic Feb 26th, 2007 10:36 AM

That should say "we're trying..."

Ooh! Should have previewed my post...

CiaoLeone Feb 26th, 2007 06:50 PM

LOL, Fodors remains available to the habitues. Anyway, it's an excellent site for planning trips.

NeoPatrick Feb 27th, 2007 06:13 AM

Interesting. For the past couple of days when apparently others were having problems, I had none at all. But today, after the problems have all been fixed, I have had to log in about 12 times -- every time I click on my own screen name to see my previous posts, it logs me out.
Guess whatever they fixed, caused different problems than before.
