I'm getting hungry. What time does the seafood buffet start on Friday and what times does the Sunday Brunch start?

iceeu2 Apr 27th, 2005 04:40 AM

MTM, one of the concierges at The Princeville emailed me a copy of the seafood buffet offerings..you should have no trouble finding something you will enjoy.

katolb90, Friday Seafood Buffet begins at 5:30 pm...Sunday Brunch begins at 10 am..no charge for valet or self parking...

Budman, there's a Roy's in Poipu. Not eaten there myself, too expensive !!

When we were there last october, i was really one of the best buffets i've been to. The regular menu didn't disappoint us, either. however..it is really expensive. Oh and also..don't take it the wrong way, as the place has jaw-dropping views that you might enjoy being outside to experience..but if you do i suggest putting bug spray on..especially on the legs..the mt. makana sunset mosquitos like the feast, too i think. enjoy your trip.

katolb90 Apr 28th, 2005 10:41 AM

Thanks for the extensive menu. Yummy, delicious. What is the attire? I would like to stop in on my way back from the beaches of Hanalei on my way back to the Marriott.

margot55 Apr 28th, 2005 10:54 AM

Attire for Cafe Hanalei's seafood buffet is pretty parallel to the general "hang loose" philosophy in Hawaii! I mostly see people wearing alohawear attire, shorts are perfectly acceptable. (Probably wise to make sure your waistband is elastic, though!) ;)

iceeu2 Apr 28th, 2005 10:59 AM

katolb90, I'm guessing the attire is resort wear. Don't know that for a fact tho. If you are staying at the Marriott in Lihue, they have a sensational seafood buffet on Fridays and Saturdays, and also a really good Sunday brunch. Think it even includes champagne. Two years ago, the Saturday night (prime rib, I think) buffet was $35pp. No view, but great aloha spirit by the wait staff. The food was excellent, as well.

If that is where you are staying, then you will probably get a mahalo card for 10% off.

pspercy, I was think Roy Rogers roast beef/fast food, but I was only kidding. ((a))

Thanks for the link to Roy's. They have a nice prix fixe menu for $33. I just might check it out. ((b))

iceeu2 Apr 28th, 2005 11:15 AM

B'man....I knew you were talking about roast beef, but didn't want to make any more smart remarks!!

You have any amex rewards points that need using up? You can use them for a Roy's gift certificate.

I thought they only had the prix fixe menu on the mainland. I hope they have it in Hawaii. If you miss eating at Roy's on Kauai where there is no view, you can always eat there when you are on Oahu. There are 2 locations and I understand both have really nice views.

Countdown>>>>>drumroll.........16 days!

Budman Apr 28th, 2005 11:38 AM

Oh, maybe I'll save it for Oahu. Thanks.

27 and a wake up. ((r)) ((b))

Hi We ate at the princeville buffet on Friday March 11th. I made the reservation in late january. we made a 5:30 reservation and arrived about 10 minutes late. There were no lines at that time and we had the first table on the outside all by ourselves. It was fantastic. The view was amazing so if you make your reservation way in advance the table is reserved for you. It is not a first come first served basis but the tables are assigned at the time you make your reservation. I wouldn't show up too late though since they may give your table away. Have a great time. I also do not eat seafood and had more than enough to eat. Enjoy

iceeu2 Apr 28th, 2005 02:05 PM

marsh, I have made my reservation 25 days in advance..I was told to be there about 10 mins early in order to try and get terrace seating.

Did you use some bug stuff? Mosquitos love me. Should we perhaps ask to sit inside?

iamq Apr 28th, 2005 02:52 PM

i2,
Don't you dare sit inside!

Slather some of Kal's personality O-) on your legs (see recent insect repellent post) and soak up the views!

-Bill

iceeu2 Apr 28th, 2005 03:06 PM

Bill, I love you...you are just too too cute...if I sit inside, you will never EVER know! Did you see my countdown????

iamq Apr 28th, 2005 05:33 PM

i2,
Countdown? What countdown?
