One more sleep...
We leave for Paris tomorrow. We are trying to do the "early to bed, early to bed thing" to prepare for the time change, however I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight. It seemed like the time would never come, now it's here.

SeaUrchin, I know what you mean, time goes by so quickly as it is! What cities are you going to? Maybe we'll cross paths and could meet up for a drink or dinner.

SeaUrchin May 13th, 2005 01:12 PM

That would be great! So far I am renting a villa outside of Florence for two weeks and then touring around Italy for the next 10 days, probably getting down to Amalfi Coast too.

How about you?

I am leaving for Rome 2 weeks from today, and actually began planning my wardrobe sometime ago. I'm going up to the Lake District for about a week, so I'm packing some sweaters. I know I won't wear those in Rome, though! As far as the countdown goes, it seems like time is getting nearer and nearer...I can barely stand it! (I'm going to meet up with kismet and with islandgirl, I hope!)

I leave in one week for Tuscany and Rome. It has been a very long time counting down since we purchased our airfare in early September.

In my calendar I entered a countdown so it would appear in my email box when I was a month closer. The last month I had it by week, and now it's by the day. A bit silly but a few months ago when I was really busy with school and saw the 3 months until Italy Trip message, it made my day!

June will be here before you know it!

SusanP May 13th, 2005 01:27 PM

SeaUrchin, Sounds as though I'll be in Florence at the same time. I have 4 nights Venice starting 9/16, 3 nights Florence starting 9/20, 2 nights Siena starting 9/23, 3 nights Pienza starting 9/25, and 5 nights Rome starting 9/28.

KayB95,

Thanks for the headsup on the timeleft link. Just downloaded it. Doesnt seem to make the time go any faster though. BUMMER!!!

SeaUrchin May 13th, 2005 01:40 PM

SusanP, let's keep in touch and keep it in mind. I'll put it on my calendar to check with you early Sept. That will be fun.

SusanP May 13th, 2005 01:41 PM

Sounds good!

Chicago_Heather May 13th, 2005 01:52 PM

Just looked at the calendar and discovered it's 162 days until I get to go to Rome. That's a loooong way away.

yk2004 May 13th, 2005 08:14 PM

Leaving in 6 days for London, Brussels & Amsterdam.

How to make the days go faster?

1. Work
2. I'm hitting quite a number of art museums (the last count was 11 or 12), so I've been busy reading books on Vermeer, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Magritte, Escher, Bruegel etc.

jules4je7 May 13th, 2005 08:25 PM

Now that you made me think about it, 162 days until London and Paris.

It feels so far away, but I feel ready to get my suitcase out and start packing.

Dejais May 13th, 2005 11:41 PM

Four more sleeps until we leave for Italy and Paris. And obviously I can not sleep!

140 days until I leave for Paris/Normandy/Brussels/Bruge/Amsterdam. Right now, I am just hitching to go on a trip period! A good has just returned from Italy and another is going in 2 days.

I will cope with the days ahead in 2 different ways...read through my guide books to plan my trip and I will be getting together with the friend who has just returned from Italy and another friend who went to Italy last fall and we will share our photo albums. I will bring my photo album from Italy and from my recent trip to London. In addition, my friend who just returned from Italy, went to China 2 years ago, we will once again look at her photo album.

Oh Lord, I think I have to wait the longest - 266 days! And here I was only counting in months (8.5). :(

My itinerary is still pretty much all set up. Right now, though, I'm adding stuff to my "scrapbook" on whatsonwhen.com (like I need to find more stuff to do to put on my already overstuffed itinerary). I did find out the Chinese New Year will be celebrated during that time, the sales will STILL be going on (yay! thru to Feb 8th) and there's a really cool drum&bass event going on at the Rex the first Wednesday of every month. I'd love to go to that. I'm a huge Mike Doughty/Soul Coughing fan and of drum&bass in general.

I need to add a bunch more Paris stuff on my Virtual Tourist page so I think that'll help.

I'm pretty much going nuts right now & it's all still so far away.

I'm passing the time by printing out a different route from viamichelin every day. Elle, that's hilarious. How many routes are you up to so far? ;)

Kayb95, that is a cool tool to HAVE! Thanks.

delvino, hope you enjoyed that limo. What a great way to start off your trip.

Have a great trip, everyone!
