That would be Antonio Banderas, the formally critically acclaimed Spanish film actor gone Hollywood on us, but still dashing as ever. I'll take him and leave Bono to sweat into his squeaky leather next to some other coach traveller.

OK, I'll take a slightly different line and name people I just think might be interesting to talk with: Candace Bergen, Dan Rather, Mick Jagger, Carrie Fisher, Bette Midler, Mike Nichols, Nora Ephron, or Whoopie Goldberg.

Diana Galbaldon--she could tell me the plot of the next book, and I wouldn't have to wait any longer.

Anita Oct 31st, 2000 11:29 AM

Talk? You don't think I wanted to sit next to Antonio to practice my Spanish? How could you misunderstand my motivation?

MaureenGP Oct 31st, 2000 03:44 PM

Okay, I've fallen for all this girl talk. My choice: Another vote for Joseph Fiennes, going over and coming back, and if I were the luckiest woman on the face of the earth, for the whole trip in between. (Oh, let's hope my hubby doesn't read this post! Just fantasizing, honey...By the way, I know my husband's choice would be Melina K????, the actress on "Providence"!)

Emily Oct 31st, 2000 04:16 PM

Some hotties that i haven't seen mentioned yet: Ed Burns (was in saving private Ryan and used to date one of those skinny hollywood blondes) and David Duchovny, what a body. And I'd second Jude Law and Aidan Quinn, great suggestions!

SharonM Oct 31st, 2000 05:32 PM

Ok...just so that you know I have SOME substance... Tom Waites? (Definetly for the conversation only tho'...Don't get me wrong!)

SharonM Oct 31st, 2000 05:33 PM

oops...just to explain...
(It IS Halloweeeeeen)

Happy Halloween Everyone!!!

Mad at Maddy Aug 20th, 2001 01:53 PM

Madonna. On the Detroit-London, I'd give her a piece of my mind!

holly Aug 20th, 2001 02:00 PM

i hope you all travel in first class :)

Bill Aug 20th, 2001 02:24 PM

Anyone but Hillary. No, seriously, I would like my seat mate to be female and like my scotch: aged 18 years.

Bill C

Gary C Aug 20th, 2001 02:26 PM

I'm will Bill.

Gary C

The Irish & Scottish males seem to be a little over-represented here - what IS it about the celtic male that attracts you U.S. girls??? Even the Finnes lived in Ireland for years! Is it the accent? I usually travel on vacation with another "black Irish" (i.e. dark brown hair, blue eyes ala Pierce Brosnan) boy - my hubby!

First choice of Sean Connery is taken so I'll go for Billy Connelly as long as he promised to perform his monologues all through the flight.

Regards ... Ger

capocurious Aug 20th, 2001 02:39 PM

Capo. Then I could find out if he's as interesting in person as he is on this board.

Bob Brown Aug 20th, 2001 02:40 PM

First choice is my girlfriend, but her name is not "big" in the publicity sense. So if I have to select one who is known to the press and TV cameras, my second choice is Emily Foster.

Who is she? Emily is the reigning Miss Georgia and, hopefully, the next Miss America. I am rooting hard for her.
Why select her? No, not for the obvious reason. Miss Foster is also highly intelligent -- on the summa cum laude scale. So the conversation would not be boring!

s.fowler Aug 20th, 2001 04:03 PM

Hey... Capo is MINE over, there and back :)

Spider Aug 20th, 2001 04:21 PM

I'll take the middle seat with Bill Clinton on one side, and Ricky Martin on the other. When Bill starts to drone, I will just stare at Ricky for a while.

nancy Aug 20th, 2001 05:05 PM

Kevin Kline ,Sean Connery or
Denzil Washington!!!
Because they are so handsome!
and when I need a "hormonal rush" rest,
I would enjoy Bette Midler and Joni Mitchell.
Because Bette would make me laugh, and both she and Joni could sing to me.
Katherine Hepburn, but I think
I would be too intimidated to sit next to her..

Cap'n Bob Aug 20th, 2001 08:49 PM

If all you economy pax are so hellbent on sitting with some rich movie star type, please remind them that showing a little consideration to the flight crew won't hurt the chances of their Versace and Armani-clad butts arriving on time and without a bunch of paparazzi waiting at the gate. I'm not just talking about nice comments to the FAs, by the way. Now sit back and enjoy the flight, folks.

Capo Aug 20th, 2001 09:29 PM

*LOL* Sally!!! Am I going to have to check in the seats around me, under my seat, and in the overhead compartment, on my next flight to see if I'm being stalked? :~)

To: capocurious. Merci, you flatter me.

Hmmmm...a "big name", eh? Well, besides Sally...I'd love talking music with Bruce Springsteen, politics with Bill Maher, architecture with Frank Gehry, spirituality & religion with Deepak Chopra,...or the art of acting with Elizabeth Hurley. :~)
