We started travelling about five years after our kids finished college and have taken about 2 trips a year since. We have been to England, France and the Netherlands in Europe and many states in the U.S. My goal is to visit every state and many more foreign countries while our health permits. I love this board. Hello, <BR> <BR>I was born and raised in Gelnhausen, Germany. It`s a small ancient walled city 40 km north of Frankfurt. Those of you who were in the Army might know it, we used to have around 10 000 GI`s living at the base. <BR>When I was studying I lived(for a period of 6 months to one year) in Mallorca/Spain, Barcelona/Spain, London/UK, Dublin/Ireland, Boston/US and some other locations as an Au-Pair Girl. It`s a very cheap way for young people to see the world and to get to know the country without being a "tourist". <BR> <BR>I still live in Gelnhausen and work in Frankfurt. <BR> <BR>Miriam

I think I am the second one here living in Orlando, Florida. I have been here since 1968 so I am almost a native. Moved here from Ohio. I love meeting the European tourists that come here which has pushed me to taking a yearly European trip for the past ten years. And this forum has been so helpful.

Hello everyone! Born in Phoenix, AZ but moved to Riverside, Calif when I was very young because my mom couldn't take the heat in Phoenix. (She now lives at the beach and loves it!) I am always fascinated with people who have lived all over the place or at least in several places. Sometimes I feel like my feet are stuck in mud. Living in the same place for 40 years seems reeeallly boring - not very adventuresome. Especially for one who loves to travel. <BR> <BR>I know I should have joined the service when I was young - great opportunity for travel. But other than that do you just pack your bags and go where the mood takes you or do you line up a job first and then move or are you transfering with an exsisting job?? I suppose it's anyone of those options for most people. But, you also have to have a mate that's willing to do the same thing. <BR> <BR>I would love to try a new locale but having never done it it's pretty scary, especially when all our family is right here. I would love a job where I had temporary stints in different locations. That would be awesome! Any suggestions for a job of this type???

Probably nobody will read to #99, but here goes anyway: I live w/in a couple miles of where I was born 47 yrs ago in Ohio. In my 20's and 30's I saw most of the states, spent a summer in Hawaii, but have never made it to Alaska yet. Also spent a week in the Caribbean most years. My 40's have been spent traveling to Europe, a different county each June. Still spend a week in the Caribbean each year! And still take a couple long weekends a year in a different US city.
