Mendenhall, Mississippi

I've not traveled as extensively as other posters (been to Europe only once), but I do enjoy reading the posts and hopefully being able to help other travelers sometimes.

canuckuphereathome Sep 20th, 2004 11:03 AM

This canuck hails from southwestern Ontario..about 2 hrs. from Toronto. The winters are too cold but that's why they gave us the I75 straight thru to Florida. But I wouldn't trade living here for anything-it's a great place!

whoknew Sep 20th, 2004 07:56 PM

I'm born and raised in the Central San Joaquin Valley of California. Almost all the travel forums I've read always comment on how dull and boring the Valley is to drive through (I guess it's all that "dull" farmland), but they don't see the bounty the earth gives us.

I'm a long time lurker of fodors boards and I find it more civil than most. Not traveled much. Most of Italy once(with a couple of days in Germany and Innsbruck Austria), and back to Rome last December. Currently planning a solo trip to Vienna Austria but the future mr. whoknew is pouting in the background so maybe he'll change his mind.

JWitt Sep 20th, 2004 08:27 PM

I'm from Hartford, Ct, anticipating a move to Miami, FL. next year. I've been around Europe (but it was a while ago as a teenager), London and Bath, Crete, lots of Mexico East and West coast (worked on a cruise ship for 3 years), Quebec, Canada (Gaspe) and planning on Barcelona, Spain this December. This forum is great and has inspired me to possibly begin keeping a journal when I travel.

Fallbrook, California. 50 miles north of San Diego. You would never believe it's in So Calif. Small town, rolling hills, avocado trees and horses everywhere, 15 miles from the ocean, no traffic once I am off the freeway.

Grew up in Chandler, AZ, college in San Antonio, Texas then moved to Los Angeles. Lived in LA area for 17 yrs until moving south towards San Diego.

Have traveled to about 1/2 of the states, Mexico, Canada, England, Netherlands, Spain, France and some interesting trips to Romania and Yugoslavia when they were behind the Iron Curtain. This forum is great, helped me plan a wonderful trip to Paris. Next on my list, Italy.

Tangata Sep 22nd, 2004 12:45 AM

Well I answered this some time ago, but nobody is going to look back that far, so I guess that it is time that I did so again.

I live in Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand, having arrived here from New Zealand, along the way living in Australia, Hong Kong and Malaysia. A trip that took me 32 years.

At the last count, I had visited 37 countries, many of them more than once. London remains my favourite city and I don't see anywhere ever replacing it. There are many countries that I would like to return to, but there are also many countries that I have yet to see. At present, I am waiting to discover whether I am going to be spending the next 12 months working in India, or whether I am going to be free to visit Egypt and Greece, both for the first time.
