Pet my cat and pour a glass of cold white wine. In that order.

Greet the cat and take a shower. I hate the gross feeling after being on a plane for 8 hours or so. Then it's laundry, mail, etc. until I can no longer stay awake.

Wow...everyone is so productive...

After giving my kitties a big hug and kiss, I have a Fresca (with ice cubes!!!!), pop in my memory to the iMac to start uploading my photos, then it's off to the couch!!
I don't touch the mail or laundry til the next day!!!!
What a slacker I am:)

I start pot of coffee then I spend some time cuddling with the doggies. Shortly after we get home the adult children usually show up to hear about the trip and collect whatever goodies we brought back for them. As soon as they leave it is usually a hot shower and off to bed with me. The unpacking and laundry can wait until the next day as it is usually nearing midnight by the time all of the kids leave.

I am never sure how good of a trip I had until I see where I have been.

I get in the house, take a very long hot shower, put on my old comfortable pj's and get in bed, no matter what time it is! I love my pillow, I love watching tv in bed, which I probably haven't done for a few weeks. Sometimes I fall asleep, sometimes I get up after an hour or so and start to unpack and get the laundry going.

luv2globetrot: my husband too has missed his beloved "Fresca" and can't wait to pound one down!

Get out of my airplane clothes and take a shower. Unpack all the goodies I've bought for everyone. Start a load of laundry. Enjoy a cup of tea while talking about our trip. Catch up with the kids about what they did while we were gone.

Greet the cats, shower and bed. It is usually late.
Like Vicky I always take the next day off work so I unpack in the morning.

Call my Dad, the only other person I know who believes verbal trip reports start with: "the limo to the airport was black and was driven by Rick who was..."

Unpack a little, glance at mail,maybe check emails,contact grown children...and SHOWER (head to feet)....and try to stay up till regular bedtime in US. (even though it is way into the night in Europe)

~~~~~~knowing we'll be awake very early in the morning due to the time change! AH! it's so good to be home, off the plane, and in our own bed and dreaming of another beautiful trip completed.

Read thru approx. 2 feet of mail!

check the crackberry (i.e. blackberry), and go thru mail

Pick up the dog from the kennel, call our parents to let them know we made it home safely, and read through the pile of mail waiting for us.

Pay a king's ransom to get our cats out of hock, pick up some tacos, take a quick shower, pour a stiff martini, see how my sport's teams have tanked while I've been gone, pour another stiff martini, turn on the news, switch on ESPN Sports Center, fall asleep on the couch, get yelled at by Tracy to turn off the television and come to bed. Come to think of it, except for the cat thing, I have many nights like that.

It doesn't matter if I've been gone for 3 days or 3 weeks, I'm compulsive about unpacking as soon as I get home. I unpack EVERYTHING, start the laundry and put the luggage back into storage before I even hop in the shower.

Doesn't matter how long I've been flying to get home (and living in Hawaii, I've usually been flying quite a while) or what time it is when I do get home. Yes, it's a sickness.

Look around for my cats. The younger male is easy to find, the very old female is usually easy to find now that she's old, but the younger female usually hides. Once I'm assured that they are all ok, I phone my father who lives on the other side of the country. Then we usually look around for something to eat and watch TV til all hours of the night. We never unpack until the next day.

1. Check the mound of mail on the kitchen table.
2. Check voice mail.

The luggage usually stays in the front hall for about 24 hours...

Go straight for mexican food. No matter where I've gone, I always come back wanting mexican food.

lol happytotravel; that's funny because whenever we travel to Europe we have a standing tradition of going to Cracker Barrel the next morning for breakfast. Not sure why; perhaps because its always comforting to come home to American comfort food or something. Its funny how these things become habbit!

Since both of my cats reside at my mom's when I'm on vacaction, I usually end up there to pick them up and then head back over to my place so I can unpack, do laundry, etc.
