The Euro closed at $1.27.65 today!
Maybe it will go down to $1.25 or less
by May?

ira, what you're saying makes a lot of sense, or is at least a 50/50 proposition, for those who arrange and book things well in advance.

I'm probably more the exception than the rule, but I've never booked a car more than 30 days out. I can't recall a truly major shift in exchange rates over the past few years that would have made much impact in that one month time, pro or con. So I was thinking more about abating the rate "overhead". For those who book early, I agree that following the trends probably makes the most sense.

All this about the euro's to the dollar reminds of my post last year about finding a place to rent discount ski's in Banff. I wrote that I was staying in the Bannf Springs Hotel. The guy writes back " you're staying in the Banff Springs hotel and your worried about discount rental ski's, buddy, if you want to run with the big dogs you have to learn how to piss in the tall grass". My wife laughed for days over that because she tells me to spend a little. I am leaving with my family to go skiing in Cortina next week and staying in Venice for one night. I cannot wait and I don't think the dollar will be getting any stronger. So I will have to spend my money.
