audere est farce: were they serving sushi at the Oval?>>>>>>>

No - just pies, crisps, ice cream and beer (but there were hotdogs - so it could be the start of the slippery slope). Mind you; God alone knows what they serve in the boxes.

Do Spurs and my club, ManU ever tangle?>>>>>>>

At least twice a year in the league - once at the lane and once at old trafford. Occasionally we are drawn against each other in one of the cups - but not very often.

You are the perfect man utd fan. You're not from Manchester, you've never been to old trafford and you don't know much about football! Do you like prawn sandwiches? Mind you they are owned by yanks these days, so perhaps that's the shape of things to come.

hi audere,

just a little extreme i fear - and she does have her uses - like having someone to crow over when we win!

Annhig/others, This thread is begining to be as hard to read as tackling a googly!

hi, comfy - at least it's not a dousra!

[for thereyet's benefit, it's what a certain sri lankan slow-bowler does that no-one understands].

regards, ann

ps go the reds! [for audere's benefit]. one in the eye for the perfect one.

Annhig,

Sadly, terribly out of touch with Cricket here in States. Que es Dousra? Are you referring to that off-spin variant Muralitharan does? Does it mean anything (Dousra, that is)?

annhig May 1st, 2007 02:58 PM

hi, comfy -

got it in one. Don't think anyone understands how he does it except him, and he's not telling.

he looks like a prime canditdate for RSI of the wrist in later life.

unfortunately, the cricket world cup final descended into farce, and we never got to see him [or the other sri lankans] at their best.

it's midnight here, and time for bed.[ I think early chez vous]. night night!

regards, ann

"Doosra" just means "the other one" and it's an off-spinners version of the googly (or Bosie if any Aussies are reading this). So it goes away from the batsman.

Murali bowls it best - even if his arm action is very dodgy indeed.
