Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, I received an envelope with a hole but no pin. Bummer.
Fodors is sending pins in padded envelopes to people who live 30-40 blocks away from the fodors.com office?!
Anyhow, my envelope had a hole in it, but arrived safely.
Way to go, Fodors! Received my bright, spanking new pin today in North Carolina! I'll wear it wherever the road (well, actually the airlines) takes me!
I received my pin but my husband ( afdewet) did not.
It's looking increasingly like I will have to add a new category: Received a pin in padded envelope!
Res,

First, as to your last comment: :-)

Next, you can remove my name from your "received an empty envelope" list. I received one today in a padded envelope. Guess my politely pleading e-mail to Fodor's did bear fruit.

And, to Fodor's, THANK YOU! If I wasn't a convert before, I am now!
Rex I received my pin...after I had already come back from my trip..but at least I got it.
Dave, et. al.,

I forgot to mention that I also sent a polite e-mail after receiving the empty envelope. That might have done the trick.

Cheers,

Gerry K
Surprise, surprise!

Today, pin received here in Zurich with a second mailing in a very nice high-quality envelope stamped in NY City on June 19.

Thank you Fodors!
Yesterday I received a second pin in the mail (and no, I didn't register twice)!
I got my pin yesterday (in Hawaii). YAY! Just in time too, since I leave Monday for Beijing.
Yippee! I received my pin today - arrived safely in a padded envelope!

Thanks, Fodors!
I received mine today as well here in Vancouver. The note inside is dated June 10th and the postage stamp is June 19. Maybe they are senting everyone another one this time in padded envelopes?
There was a note? What did it say? I don't think there was a note with the first round of pins.
IgotmypinIgotmypinIgotmypinIgotmypinIgotmypin!!

Mine arrive nicely padded [lie the cell all we addicts belong in??] It's a cute 'lil thang:) There was a very short note thanking us for being loyal forumites. My bet is that they figured they had to do something after the fiasco of the first mailing.

In any case thankyouthankyouthankyou!!
Not WooHoo but BooHoo. Still have received nothing!!!!
Remember, it they don't understand you speak s-l-o-w-e-r and LOUDER.
Pin and padded envelope received today in Glasgow :o)

Thanks for listening, Fodors.
Rex,

Thanks for starting the thread. Got my pin today.

Looks like Fodors pays attention to the board.

Thanks Fodors!

Claye
Loooks like I'll need to re-tally.

But I still have NOT received one! (my wife did, not using the name Bickers)

Take me off the list, recieved mine today in Vancouver Canada, in a padded envelope all nicely intact. Just in time for my trip to Italy this August. Thanks Fodors! Good luck to the rest of you all still waiting.
Received my pin in the padded envelope today.

Art - if they don't send you anything at all again, let me know if you want to borrow mine for your trip!
I GOT MINE, WOO HOO. When I got home this afternoon after teaching my Saturday class it was in the mail in a padded envelope with a note initialed by Danny and Aisling.
Thanks so much Diane and Holly for the offers. Holly, will you make to the SoCal GTG in late August?
Hooo Yaaa Got mine in a padded envelope yesterday. I emailed Danny Mangin to thank them for re-sending a freebie that cost them money to produce and mail - not once, but twice.

These Fodor's folks are aces in my book.
Got the pin in a padded envelope with a nice note from Danny and Aisling today. Southern California thanks you, Fodors. First class!
I've got 2 now.
I got a pin in Munich! A few weeks ago I got an empty envelope with the corner torn off but the other day I got a padded envelope with a pin! Cool! Thanks!!
Me too, me too, me too! Take me out of the "empty envelope" column and put me in the "padded mailer with nice note from Danny" column.

I was very surprised and am very grateful. Can't wait to wear it, I'm off to Mexico in 12 days, will wear it proudly.

Sandy
Yyeah! I got mine now too! I never did receive anything the first time around, but in the end Fodor's really came through.

How fun! I can't wait to wear mine on my trip to Finland!

Got mine on Saturday and it was not broken.
I got my second one on Saturday, in a padded envelope with an initialed note too.

I feel badly that I got two and there are still some folks out there that have none. But, then I will have a back up in case I lose one! :)
Moi aussi....a second pin! I am golden...I will make my Hubby wear one too!
Judy :-)
Still nothing here..., I was hoping for something over the weekend. I never sent an e-mail note to the editors. Should I have done that to get on the second mailing??
Got my pin this weekend in padded envelope after receiving empty envelope a few weeks back. My trip is over so I will save for the next one. Thanks Fodors.
Am embarrassed to say that I was away from the forum during the pin ordering. Can anyone tell me if it's too late to get one? If not, any instructions would be appreciated. (Thanks in advance.)
YESSSSS! Got my padded envelope pin in Friday's mail. I had sent the empty torn envelope back to Fodor's with a note by mail. Thanks so much to the Fodor folks.
I'm one of the lucky ones who got a pin in the first mailing. In an envelope with a hole, true, but the pin was there. I wore it proudly on my travel handbag and lost it on our second day! If you picked up a Fodor's pin somewhere in Venice on June 9 or 10, it's mine! I also had a blue ribbon on my bag, but no approaches. Of course there is no way I paid any attention to blue ribbons on other people when I had Italy to see, so I'm not surprised nobody saw mine, either.
well, well, well - - i finally got MINE even - - in the padded envelope. I guess i will have to re-tally again sometime soon. there may be hardly anyone left on the "got none" list...

Thanks, Danny, Aisling...
It arrived Saturday in perfect condition. My life and mood was transformed by a deep and satisfying feeling of acceptance. I will confess that I was worried that I may never get one for having made one too many weird comments to warrant the reward of a pin. But now I can proudly display the pin upon my breast and be counted amongst you all. I did have a back up plan which, thank god I did not have to resort to. I was contemplating posting a message to buy a "used" pin from any forum pin wearing bloke who wanted to make an extra buck and was willing to part with this most exquisite piece of jewelry, which by the minute increases in value. Whew... I'm glad I didn't haven't to resort to anything so demeaning.
I remain your loyal and grateful devotee,
Dr. Betty
Rex

I'm still on the "got none" list :-(

Here's the history: Excitedly requested a pin the first day, within hours of availability. Husband requested his about two days later. Husband received his in torn envelope in late May; I received nothing. Sent an e-mail to Fodors about a week ago politely requesting another and am still pinless and petulant, but ever-hopeful in CA.

Formerly [email protected]
Betsy,
Keep the faith deary, fodors will get to you. I was impressed that my name and address was hand written and not some kind of mass produced label. I hate to sound maudlin, but I do believe these people take the expression of gratitude in the form of these pins seriously. Ya gotta love 'em.
Dr. Betty
