Tallying pin recipients, empty envelopes, and got nothing
Listed in order that a message was posted (mostly on the thread "Yesss!!!", but a few other threads as well. E-mail addresses have been obscured to prevent this from becoming a spam list.

Please post here, if you are willing to be counted in any of the three categories.

It suggests that there were never 500 envelopes mailed. Ordered first morning.

Nothing received.
Hi Rex! Put me down on the "Have not received anything" list.
Rex, Put me down on the empty envelope list.
Hi Rex

I was going to compile a list and send it to the Fodor folks; thanks for taking on the task. You have me listed as receiving a pin, which in reality was my husband's. My pin has not yet arrived, so please add me to the "not received anything" list--I ordered mine the first morning, husband ordered his a few days later.
Hi Rex, got my pin in a holey envelope. It was a miracle! The pin was 2 secs away from coming out of the envelope..... had 2 postmarks also. FYI, Judy ;-/
xxx - -

Why such strict anonymity? I assume that you are #45, not number 07. If I'm going to keep you and your husband straight, perhaps I will name you "Number45" (or him?) - - is there some other better name I should use?

And for what it's worth, it should be my wife (using her maiden name) at number 41. I am on the "received nothing" list, personally.

I suppose that anyone who wants to add on to this list under "chose not to order a pin" or "didn't know about it in the two day time window" can list name(s) here also.
Hi Rex,

Received mine in Toronto last week.
I received an empty envelope.
My girlfriend received a damaged pin.

j.
I received my pin last week.
Just occurred to me that I have forgotten the other forums (though based on "topic number" - - a unique identifier for each new thread started - - I believe that the distribution of "activity" is roughly 405 US, 40% Europe, 20% all other).

They do have ONE thread going on the US forum about pins received (and other "categories", including empty envelopes!) - -

http://www.fodors.com/forums/crossro...messagesframe&

(by the way, as I anticipated, a URL like this works from anywhere - - on the right forum or not - - don't even have to be on fodors.com to jump directly to this or any other thread)

I'll re-tally with all new entries from this thread (and any other forums - - perhaps I'll post a "call" for "attendance" on other forums) about once every 24 hours for the next few days.
Got my pin last week
Ordered first morning, nothing received here in Vancouver.
My pin has arrived! Please move my name to the proper list.
Yesterday, got an empty envelope with a hole in it.
Rex, thanks for tallying. It is awfully nice of you to do. I hope everyone appreciates it!
You can add me to the list of receiving nothing
Add me to the received an empty envelope list. By the way, just back from France, it was wonderful. Didn;t see any pins, not that I looked to hard. Trip report to follow.
Received my pin yesterday. The envelope had a gaping hole, but the pin was barely hanging on.
Tony responded for both of us but I haven't received a pin either; we signed up at the same time.
Empty envelope here in Dallas. Received last week.
Hi!

I did receive a pin yesterday but there was a large hole in the envelope. I can't belive it didn't fall out!

Steph
Rex: Perhaps I missed something--why the tally?
I finally received my pin last week, envelope intact.
I ordered my pin the first day and have yet to receive anything. Hope it comes soon!
:)
Got my pin.
Got my pin. Big hole in envelope but pin ok.
received the pin last week in Toronto.
Received pin last week.
Ordered on first morning - so far no pin. (I live in Hawaii - so I am still hoping this is just due to slow mail).
Got mine.
Whoops, I take that back. My pin did arrive but it was hidden somewhere in the stack of mail amassed during our 3 month trip. Thanks Fodors!
Got mine about a week ago---hole in envelope but pin intact.
To Mel:

It started off as private conversations between myself and others - - and the question of who received nothing and why - - and suspicions that there never were 500 of them mailed, or even ordered.

But as you can see, there seems to be a general interest in this subject.
Pin came Tuesday 5/29 in a USPS envelope saying item(s) damged in transit. Fodor's envelope ripped, but taped up and the pin was inside (whew!)

Can't wait until I run into my fellow Fodorites at the grocery store.
I received mine last week. but the envelope was starting to develope a hole in it, where the back of the pin was coming through the envelope.
I had posted my sad news on another post, but my name was missing on your collective list...I want to be counted !!!! My empty envelope arrived last week....so disappointed in Salt Lake City...
Rex

An empty envelope received.

Bill
Received mine last week in a holey envelope. He tried to get away but luckily did not succeed.
Rex,
Why hold the company accountable for 500 pieces?
I had read that a "limited quantity" would be available but nothing more specific.
I'm just curious; perhaps I missed something. Thanks,
j.
