Wonderful. The shot of Notre Dame at dusk is now my wallpaper. I leave in 10 days!

I like the ones from the top of the Arc de Triumph. Stunning views from up there. Brings back fond memories and gives me itchy feet!

Thankyou for posting. Really enjoyed seeing those pictures.

I absolutely love your photos! Thank you for sharing. What kind of camera did you use?

Wow, everyone -- thanks so much for the kudos on the pictures!

Grounded - I couldn't remember the exact street that the picture of the mosaic was taken on, but I just found it on googlemaps! It's near the corner of Rue de la Huchette and St. Jacques (google says it's Petit Pont at that juncture). For those who aren't familiar, this is in the Latin Quarter near all those pedestrian-only streets... there are a lot of "ethnic" bakeries and markets there (Tunisian, Greek, etc.) My sister was the one who spotted this beautiful mosaic, which looks to be Middle Eastern. Anyone have any more info on this?

Cynthia -- how could profiteroles EVER be out of style? They are timeless! And amazing. I always feel a little stupid snapping pictures of my food at restaurants, but I don't care and do it anyways!

Scootoir and TravelRibbon, I just used a small point & shoot Canon -- it's the Canon PowerShot SD 700 IS. I LOVE this camera. It's not an SLR or anything fancy and anyone can use it! I love to shoot photos, but when I'm traveling, I don't want to mess with equipment and carrying lenses and all that. This camera fits in your pocket or purse. I will admit that I do a little bit of "photoshopping" when I get home (in some pictures I actually removed graffiti!), but I don't do anything drastic. The secret to getting great pictures is to take a LOT of pictures and then trash most of them when you get home! I was in Paris for 5 days, and I took 600 pictures. I came home and ditched 200 of them. And the ones I thought were best are online (only 30!) See how that works? ;) The quality of digital cameras nowadays is amazing... you just have to have an eye for framing pictures, shoot interesting angles, and take a LOT of shots :)

ruedebuci -- I'm so honored you downloaded that picture for your wallpaper! Really... it makes me feel so good to know that "someone out there" who I don't know is enjoying looking at one of my pictures on their desktop :) I hope it helps get you in the mood for your trip!!!
