May I be the first to say...oooh, wow.
Some great screensavers there. You are..a pro/hobbyist? |
You have an excellent eye.

Thank you Michel and Michael! Yeah, feel free to grab them and put them on your desktop if you like. No, I'm not a professional, so just enjoy! Carol

Loved the food, cafe table w/ drinks, the bicycle . . . thanks so much for sharing your photos!
|
wow - these are gorgeous. thank you for sharing.

Oh, the food shot! You know that show called something like "The Best Food I Ever Ate"??? Well, THAT was it for me! These were profiteroles at Cafe des Flores... even the waiter's eyes bugged out of his head when he delivered these to me, along with everyone else around me! It was as if they simply melted a dark chocolate bar over the top... omg!!!! It seemed really expensive for a desert, but who cares, and yes, I hate the whole thing by myself. In like 45 seconds. :)
|
Margo -- yes, there were actually many shots of cafe tables with drinks on them! Get a couple of 1664 beers in me and I start playing with my camera! This was at that beautiful little cafe in Montmartre, called Chez Plumeau, right off the Place du Tertre. We spent hours here. They have a vine-covered trellis overhead, and sunflowers on all the tables... I loved how colorful the tables ended up being, once we ordered kir, among other things!
|
Um, of course that should have read "I ATE the whole thing by myself." Later was when the hate came into play (i.e. hating my tight pants). ;)
|
Superbe!! If that's what a few beers would get me, I'd drink plenty and frequently; unfortunately, for me they would have the opposite artistic effect probably :)
Thanks for sharing. |
I really enjoyed looking at your photos, - - - they are beautiful!

Great photos, it gets me even more excited about going to Paris!
I think I gained 5lbs looking at that food, yum! Thank you for sharing! |
Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful photos. Please, please tell me where you took pic no. 9, the terrific mosaic with the woman's face. Never seen that before, and I've seen A Lot of Paris photos!
|
About the profiteroles - I read on some food blog just today that they are so last year. Even before I saw this picture I knew that could not be right. This picture so proves that blog to be wrong, wrong, wrong. Beautiful photos.
|
BEAUTIFUL! thank you.
|
Beautiful photos!
|
I love photos of meals I've enjoyed while traveling. Thanks for sharing. What type of camera did you use?
|
Wonderful. The shot of Notre Dame at dusk is now my wallpaper. I leave in 10 days!
|
I like the ones from the top of the Arc de Triumph. Stunning views from up there. Brings back fond memories and gives me itchy feet!
Thankyou for posting. Really enjoyed seeing those pictures. |
I absolutely love your photos! Thank you for sharing. What kind of camera did you use?

Wow, everyone -- thanks so much for the kudos on the pictures!
Grounded - I couldn't remember the exact street that the picture of the mosaic was taken on, but I just found it on googlemaps! It's near the corner of Rue de la Huchette and St. Jacques (google says it's Petit Pont at that juncture). For those who aren't familiar, this is in the Latin Quarter near all those pedestrian-only streets... there are a lot of "ethnic" bakeries and markets there (Tunisian, Greek, etc.) My sister was the one who spotted this beautiful mosaic, which looks to be Middle Eastern. Anyone have any more info on this? Cynthia -- how could profiteroles EVER be out of style? They are timeless! And amazing. I always feel a little stupid snapping pictures of my food at restaurants, but I don't care and do it anyways! Scootoir and TravelRibbon, I just used a small point & shoot Canon -- it's the Canon PowerShot SD 700 IS. I LOVE this camera. It's not an SLR or anything fancy and anyone can use it! I love to shoot photos, but when I'm traveling, I don't want to mess with equipment and carrying lenses and all that. This camera fits in your pocket or purse. I will admit that I do a little bit of "photoshopping" when I get home (in some pictures I actually removed graffiti!), but I don't do anything drastic. The secret to getting great pictures is to take a LOT of pictures and then trash most of them when you get home! I was in Paris for 5 days, and I took 600 pictures. I came home and ditched 200 of them. And the ones I thought were best are online (only 30!) See how that works? ;) The quality of digital cameras nowadays is amazing... you just have to have an eye for framing pictures, shoot interesting angles, and take a LOT of shots :) ruedebuci -- I'm so honored you downloaded that picture for your wallpaper! Really... it makes me feel so good to know that "someone out there" who I don't know is enjoying looking at one of my pictures on their desktop :) I hope it helps get you in the mood for your trip!!! |
Mimi, did you stop to notice that photo #9 is MOI???
