Dear Mimi:
I have added you and your wonderful Jerry, to my daily prayer list. We do not know one another personally but cancer is personal. I also am a survivor. Together stay focused, embrace all the support, meet it positively and fight it. Cancer doesn't own Jerry, Jerry owns it. You are a wonderful contributor on the forum and I have had the pleasure of your company in that regard. Strength in numbers, Power in prayer, faith and hope for more good days than bad days. Di |
Mimi- Both you and your husband are in our thoughts and prayers!

I know Mimi has a lot going on, but I really hope she will see this thread. I hope it will help her get through this storm.
Hugs to Mimi. |
Mimi, dear: Wishing you and your husband calm strength, and may all the kindnesses you have shown to so many people return ten-fold to comfort you.

Mimi has been a great resource to so many on this board, and it is so lovely to see the support rolling out to her at a difficult time.
I have seen so many diverse places mentioned . . . Hawaii, Australia . . . many locations in the U.S and Europe (I'm normally in Kansas City, but am in D.C., not K.C., at the moment) and I was envisioning a big, round-the-globe, circle of people thinking of Mimi and her husband Jerry. What a lovely image of support from a travel site. Are there any computer wizzes out there who could capture this idea somewhere in cyberspace -- not necessarily here, but on another, maybe map-centric website where we could visit, log in at our location, and show Mimi how people around the globe are joining together to send her our support. Just a late night thought while on a business trip in a waterlogged city . . . |
Tomorrow they see the surgeon.
They have a name for it now. She is overwhelmed with everything so she might not be emailing as often for now.. as well as getting "tons of emails" and it being too much for her to notify everyone... She said that the emails from survivors give them hope. She thanks us for our concern and "settles for hope , for prayers." |
Thanks Scarlett. ((F))

Scarlett, Thin or Underwood,
Please let Mimi know that she can set up a website using caringbridge.org. It's free and she, Jerry or whomever they designate can post updates as often as they choose. It's password protected so they can decide who has access. The SW at the hospital can help her with this.... It's a great site and will save her the time and emotional tumult of having to tell the same info over and over. The mom of one of my students used it when her daughter was ill and it was wonderful. Another thing I like about it is that people can leave messages back. OWJ |
Dear Mimi, I also only know you from this board and I am shocked by the news.
Prayers, positive thoughts and a warm hug from me as well. |
Mimi, I was in the same place as you 3.5 years ago when my spouse got the diagnosis. Over the intervening years of treatment and turmoil, we have been through some rocky times but things are stable and we relish each day. My thoughts are with you.

I spoke with Mimi last evening after receiving an email update from her about her husband. Although she sounded much better than a week ago, this is such a difficult time for both of them. She has not yet felt able to visit the forum to read all these supportive, beautiful messages. In her usual kind and caring ways and considering all she is dealing with herself, she offered continued support, prayers, and thoughts to me as I deal with my illness. She is an amazing person!

Keeping mimi & jerry in our prayers.
Thanks for the update Scarlett. |
Dear Cigalechanta,
I hope that your husband comes through this trial. I don't want to play Pollyanna, nor do I want to assume the worst. Having no idea of the specifics, all I can say is that many, many of my close friends and family have had to face this diagnosis over many years and, particularly recently, there is often a good outcome and recovery with the treatments. I really hope for you and your husband and all of your family and friends that your husband recovers. Faux |
Thanks to Scarlett and Marianna for the updates.
|
Thx for the updates, please keep us informed.

Saludos Mimi,
Positive, power attitude to both of you. Hope your docs are the very best. M |
