I just came across this post in one of my visits to the Europe board. I do sporadic Pittsburgh searches on the US board, but rarely come up with many matches!

I live in Robinson Twp, but it looks like we'll be entertaining out-of-town guests that weekend. I'll pencil the date in, in case we need a break from each other or they want to come along!

If you're looking for more people, I believe there is a Stephanie that posts on the US board who lives in Pittsburgh?!?

grandmere Jan 28th, 2005 05:26 AM

Time, date, and place are great.

Jody, yes, that's where I thought Orr Rd. was. Year and years ago, right out of college, I taught at USC High School for a few years. I live about 10 min. from S. Hills Village.

Tuscanlifeedit, Sunset Hills is in that corner of Lebo that is near Baldwin Twsp., Dormont, and Castle Shannon. I take McNeilly Rd. until I get to Pioneer, on the way to work. You probably know that area.

See everybody then!

tuscanlifeedit Jan 28th, 2005 10:02 AM

Oh, yes. We go to Metropolitan Veterinary on McNeilly..

See you on the 19th!

Traveling Mom, come please. Robinson is in your neighborhood. You can bring your out-of-towners along, or let them shop!

Sher Jan 28th, 2005 04:42 PM

Tuscanlifeedit. Do you want to post a message on the US Board since you are sort of the official poster?

Yes, TravelinMom. Come by all means!

Anyone else from the Pittsburgh or tri-state area? It would be nice to get more people to attend.

Panera, Robinson Town Center, Feb. 19 at 1:00. If you need directions just ask.

Sher,

I could do the post on the US board, but I'm totally unfamiliar with that board.

Also, I have seen folks link to other threads; is this just a matter of copying and pasting the URL to this thread?

Are any of you more familiar on the US board? If so, you might attract more positive attention than I...

In Pittsburghese: whaddaya think?

LarryJ Jan 30th, 2005 01:55 PM

Go for it.

Sher Jan 30th, 2005 03:47 PM

I hardly EVER post on the US board. I don't think they bite.
But there may be some interest. I know there is a post about a NJ/NY GTG in May and there were even names I am familiar with from this board. Budman organized it. This would be their second one.
So, my vote is Tuscanlifeedit, like Larry J"s. GO FOR IT.

I live to the north of Pittsburgh and would be delighted to attend, but I will be out of town that weekend. Perhaps the next time. Gradyghost

I posted this on the US Forum. Hope it isn't a double post.

Grandmere, That may have been me you were referring to because I posted a comment recently about the price we were receiving from USAir to fly to the U.K.

My "non-screen" name is Jan and I live east of Pittsburgh in Indiana County. I can't make the Panera get-together this month, but I'd be interested in a future one. If you ever plan on meeting on a Saturday morning in the Strip District, I'll be there!

grandmere Feb 2nd, 2005 11:46 AM

The Strip would be a fun place to get together; we'll keep that in mind when we are together on the 19th! Even though it wouldn't be as easily accessible as places near the major highways, I'm sure everyone would enjoy shopping in the Strip while there.

twina49 Feb 2nd, 2005 11:54 AM

I'm sure non-Pittsburgh people are speculating about what's done in the "Strip" District! ;)

tuscanlifeedit Feb 3rd, 2005 07:30 PM

Great idea to plan an outing to the Strip while we are at our Panera GTG. Lets just hope we like one another. ;-)

By the way, today at Papermart on Cochran Rd. I met a lady from Sunset Hills. I thought of you, Grandmere. But I could hardly ask her if she knew a woman named Grandmere!

Twina49..not what you are thinking!!

Jody,

Have you watched "The Strip Show" documentary by Rick Sebak?

When I get out-of-town guests for any length of time, a trip to the Strip District is a necessity. A friend from England can now claim she has eaten at the "world famous" Primanti Brothers! I love the whole area, especially on a Saturday morning.

Just wanted to bump to the top:

Western Pa. gettogether at Panera, Robinson Towne Center, Feb. 19 at 1:00 p.m.

I'm a Burgh native (USC) living in WV's Northern Panhandle and HOPE to be able to join yunz.

Sher Feb 7th, 2005 04:26 PM

Thanks flsd for bringing this to the top.
Join us because people from in and around Pittsburgh first suggested the meeting, but it would be great if we could attract anyone from the surrounding area.

LarryJ Feb 9th, 2005 07:14 PM

Anyone else from the tri-state area want to join us? If you have not yet made your first trip to Europe come anyway and learn how easy and affordable it is to do Europe. Get some ideas and then you too can make it happen. Veteran travelers are always eager to help.

I am bringing my laptop and some photo cd's. If anyone else has photo cd's bring them with you.

Saturday 2/19/05, Panera Restaurant at Robinson Town Centre at 1:00 pm.
