Christina,

I failed to address your comment about "free advertising".

Every time we mention a hotel, apartment, restaurant or whatever, we are giving them "free advertising".

I don't think the forums could exist without mentioning the names.

The "free advertising" that should not be a part of any forum is when an owner of an apt. gives out the URL of a great apt. that they regularly stay in AND that apt. is owned by that person! That is done by some!

I can give information on places that I have enjoyed in the past..but it would not be current information. I can give current information on the PP places and places I have dined recently.

Enjoy.....

Whenever someone asks about a great hotel in the 7th, I always post a great review of the Hotel Duquesne Eiffel (I don't work there). If Paris Perfect is mentioned alot, it's because they're gorgeous apartments. Yes, Joan is a frequent visitor to Paris & I'm sure the folks at ParisPerfect adore her. I wish I could go to Paris as often as Joan. One day I will.

One more thing, when I sleep on a hotel bed I usually think "Comfortable" or "Not Comfortable". I have never pulled up a bed linen to read the label. Wow!

No worries gracejoan. You mention Paris Perfect in EVERY post. I was curious, so I asked if you were an employee. It was a legitimate curiosity.

RobertaL, I DO check sheet labels when they are unusually scratchy or unusually lux!!!! These were NOT lux. They were not even 100% cotton.

I love sleeping on quality linens, not Kmart linens. I would expect Paris Perfect to at least have Frette linens, but that is just me :-)

I'm hoping to be a PP follower after spending Easter week in the Cognac apartment- 7th district. I'd be very happy for any feedback on this particular apartment and its immediate surroundings: markets, shopping, restaurants, parks - I already have the usual book & web sources for museums/historic site info - but would like Fodorite's best picks of the area. Just FYI my sister came upon this rental business through an internet search - not Fodor's talk string - so after we booked I was glad to see this blog - there are plenty of sources for balanced feedback on nearly any or all services/businesses - I have no suspicions of the heavy promo for this particular company - we chose PP by comparing location and price against a few other Paris rental agents - If all the positive feedback offends some simply switch topics or compare the offerings as we did. I needed to find this very string so thanks in advance to those who started it, keep it timely and offer tips and advice on Cognac apartment environs. VM

Hi VeraMaua,

I started this thread and quite obviously, I am very fond of the PP apartments. I have stayed in many apartments, hotels and different areas of Paris over a period of some 18 years..maybe more!

I have found that my location preference is the 7th arrondissement and that part of the 7th around Bourdonnais/St.Dominique/Rapp areas. This is an area where a great many of the PP apartments are located.

The bus and metro couldn't be more convenient..you can easily find transportation to any area.

You can also walk to many areas...Eiffel Tower, Invalides, Rodin, d'Orsay to name but a few.

Restaurants are in great abundance, in every price range. Some of Paris' finest. You have the 4 Christian Constant restaurants always at hand. I often say the Constants feed me when in Paris!

Groceries, markets, rue Cler, shops of all kinds readily available.

As to the PP apartments. They are lovely..maybe even nicer then the great pictures show. The staff is available at all times to answer questions, make reservations etc. The cleaning people are employees, not an outside service. The furnishings are not usual rental quality..more like what you would put in your home.

I was there for a month last Sept/Oct and the first half of Dec. I am returning on April 15, for a month. I am in the midst of dining plans at the moment.

I would suggest that you email http://www.shuttle-inter.com/homepage.htm for your airport transportation. I have used them for some time and have passed them on to many others who have also been using them. It is a private service. They will be outside the security door, as you exit, with your name on a sign, take your luggage to a nearby vehicle and you are away. They do keep track of flight delays and make necessary adjustments. I have used them so much that my cost has now dropped to 40 euros each way. They have told me that they would like to give all my "friends" a discount..just mention my name. They seem to be giving them 5 euros in one direction..it will grow, in time, as mine has done! Better than a taxi as the meter is not running if a traffic tieup. They will promptly respond to your e-mail. I have recently made my reservations for April/May.

If I can answer any other questions just let me know.

Enjoy your planning..

a bientot...

Joan

Many thanks to you - we are very excited about staying in the apartment rather than a hotel. We look forward to strolling around the neighborhood. Terrific airport shuttle info - may be getting picked up at the airport by a friend - if not we'll use the service you recommend. The trip to and from the airport often sets the mood and impression for 1st time travelers. We are celebrating a 75th/16th and 10th birthday in our group - so my sister and I want the trip to be smooth and enjoyable for our mixed age group. Best, Vera.

Hi Vera Maura,

Your friends who were picking you up at the airport might really appreciate it if you use the transportation service. Most locals do not like having to pick people up at the airport. Can be a real chore!

I will be arriving on April 15th..our paths may cross if you are still there.

If I correctly understand previous posts, Paris Perfect will offer a discount to those potential renters who mention Fodor's?

Is the discount currently 15 or 20%

Thanks!

gracejoan3 Feb 5th, 2009 02:23 PM

Hi,

The latest discount - 15%

gracejoan3 Feb 5th, 2009 11:30 PM

Re discount question..below is the current information. I was not aware of the discounts listed on their Prices and Terms pages..take a look..they look good to me!

" We have a limited time only, 15% discount offer for Fodorites on our regularly priced apartments. Yes you do qualify for bookings of one week or more in our one bedroom or larger apartments! The 20% promotion was a one week special last year and similar to airline pricing, applied to a few apartments but it expired some time ago.

We also have a few apartments ‘on sale’ at super discounts; see the special values on our Prices & Terms page. These apartments are a real bargain and do not qualify for an additional discount.

So being a Fodors reader just saved you 15% on any future booking on our regular apartments"

Sorry to say that we are putting off our trip till next fall - I trust it will be equally beautiful at that time of year - thanks for the advice/recommendations - we are certainly still planning on the 7th and Paris Perfect when we finally make it to Paris. It will be worth the wait!

gracejoan3 Feb 6th, 2009 06:29 AM

veramaura,

Sorry that you have to put off your trip.

You will enjoy a fall trip. Fall is very popular, so do not delay in making your lodging reservations.

Hi all!
Newbie here with family interested in using Paris Perfect. Been in contact with them only through email-they never answer the phone- we find it a bit dodgy. Def. not the smooth sailing that others here (gracejoan3) have experienced.
No offense, but has anyone else stayed recently in these apartments? Does anyone have pictures they have taken inside the apartments during their stay? Some addresses given in the forums do not match up with actual units, in fact one of them was for the ecole militaire!
Would LOVE to get one of these awesome apartments for a family gathering but am super confused and worried. They ask huge sum up front. Help?!?
Just want the experience Joan has had :)

You will never have a problem with these apartments. My husband and I stayed in Champagne Dec 2007 and I wish I hadnt as I could never stay anywhere else in Paris. We loved our location and enjoyed eating in every night ,after cooking our local market purchases. I wish I was there looking at the lights right now. We also did pay the sum up front. The photos on the net looked just the same when we arrived. You will love these apartments.

elsiejune Apr 29th, 2009 04:22 AM

I heartily agree with huddoshols. These are lovely apartments, exactly as advertised in their photos. Staff is professional and accomodating. We stayed in Cabernet in 2005 and are returning to Pinot next month. You will find that many high-end rental properties ask for huge sums up front. It's always best to get travel insurance for these purposes. Have fun choosing your apartment. BTW, I can also recommend a flat that our family (of 5) stayed in last spring. Located on the border of the 1st & 2nd arrondissements, http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p143450. It is a very beautiful apartment which proved perfect for our little group. EJ

I'm in Paris now, in Paris Perfec..the only places I stay in. I'm presently in the Richebourg and will also be in the Fleurie.

I had dinner with Madelyn last night after previewing a number of apts. She was over for the night.

Best to email as you have many times differences. Taryn or Michelle will get back to you.

Pp apartments are the only ones that I know that are probably even better than the pictures..and the pictures are great.

Enjoy....

elsiejune,

The Pinot is next door to the Richebourg..same floor for elevator.Richebourg is on two floors. The living room, dining room, kitchen, 1/2 bath on the entry level and the 3 bedrooms 2 baths are on level below. You will like the spot.

Pinot is a really nice place.

Joan,
Thanks for the info. Maybe we'll knock on Richebourg's door and say hello when we're in Pinot next month. Is it really just little ole you roaming around Richebourg? What a lovely space! Also, thanks for offering to make reservations. I've sent off an email to you with details.
Thanks so much again.
Keep enjoying, EJ
