Bonjour,

Grey and a bit breezy with some rain off and on. I went out and did not need my umbrella. It is warm.

First 3 pics below are from Pinocchio's father's place..Gepetto.

Next ones are from Au Petit Sud Ouest today. Chou Farci. It was excellent! Dessert was apple tart.

Such nice, nice people there. A pleasure to go there!

JOAN....ENJOY YOUR FOOD PICTURES. THE PICTURES FROM GEPETTO LOOK PRETTY COLORFUL AND INVITING.
I AM GETTING BACK TO NORMAL SLOWLY.IT IS A HARD TRANSITION. SOUNDS LIKE YOUR WEATHER HAS NOT IMPROVED.OURS IS VERY SIMILAR BUT PROBABLY COLDER. I AM CATCHING UP ON MY GOLF WATCHING ON TV. AFTER BEING AT THE MADISON FOR A WEEK WITHOUT TELEVISION I AM HAPPY TO HAVE SOME NEWS SOURCE.
I DID GET THE EMAIL FROM PARIS PERFECT FOR THEIR SALE. SO INVITING!
KEEP THE PARIS NEWS COMING!

sue08 - you can type in lowercase. We all seem to think it's best.

tod Nov 13th, 2010 06:23 AM

Joan - You are always so knowledgeable when it comes to dining elegantly and is very helpful to people like me who would never attempt half the places you frequent! Thank you so much for the photos - makes a difference when we can see all the good eating. Sorry to hear the weather isn't as good as the food! Take care,Tod

Cathinjoetown Nov 13th, 2010 06:29 AM

Anything wrong with the Madison apart from no English-language news? Just curious.

sueb08 Nov 13th, 2010 01:05 PM

cathinjoetown............................there was nothing wrong with the Madison except they did not confront the television problem. other than that, they were attentive and pleasant. the room was clean and nice bedding. that is, the second room i was in.after i made a complaint they offered to move me. they did upgrade me . after all, they knew their television was not working.... all in all , i have stayed at the Hotel Pont Royal several times. i prefer their hotel.

Bonjour,

I went out to breakfast and ran some errands of various kinds this morning. I then took my #42 bus into town and wandered a bit before heading to the Crillon and my after tea! I was early, but they did not care. They went ahead and began serving. It was as expected for the Crillon. I also asked about lunch dining in the bar..if I needed a reservation. May be there on Monday.

Here are some pics for today at Crillon

"I have dined at the Georges V, Le Cinq, Galleries and their bar and do not feel that it is up to the old prestige of the Crillon."

To each his own, I never found the Crillon more impressive or enjoyable and I have always had gracious, impeccable service at both the FS and the PA. The Gobelins galerie is not what I would call modern in style.

But I'm glad that you had a repeat lovely experience with the Crillon. We are planning another extended trip to Paris next year and are looking into apartments that will accept our dog (no, we're not putting her on a plane, we already live in Europe).

gracejoan3 Nov 14th, 2010 09:13 AM

There are so many great places and favorites for all!

I don't think the galerie is modern either..I think I was referring to the PA Bar. It is very popular!!

I will give the Ritz tea a try for another for all to compare. Just fun to do!

I hope you find a spot for your dog too.

Bonjour,

I do have dejeuner reservations for Guy Savoy for December 1!!

I have been to many of the 3 star restaurants in Paris and like some better than other and for different reasons. I can say that my dinner experience at Guy Savoy, as far as service goes, always stands out as being quite special in every way!

Some sun today!! Not cold. I had breakfast with Florent so we could catch up after his long holiday weekend. I then had lunch at Les Cocottes. I did take some pics. Will get to them!

Here are my pictures from lunch today at Les Cocottes. That is a poached egg on top. I do not know what it was beneath. It was very edible, though!! That is the crab salad. The greens are beneath.
