So if I read the chart correctly, the driver averaged 92 kmh.

cigalechanta Apr 6th, 2006 03:06 PM

Robespierre, I read a review of "Fatal Purity" Robespierre and the French Revolution by Ruth Scurr. Have you read it?

Robespierre Apr 6th, 2006 03:10 PM

Approximately 90.9977827 km/h.

MERVskilton Apr 8th, 2006 03:20 AM

I think "One Morning In Paris" is the real deal!.. there's nothing impossible about it!

WebMeisterWally Apr 11th, 2006 06:03 AM

Sure its possible merv, bloody stupid thing to do though.........
Classic footage !! well found Carta_Pisana

RandyK Apr 11th, 2006 08:03 AM

Big deal. I'd like to see him try this in Rome----he couldn't go two blocks without the scooter driver bodies clogging his wheel wells! :))

By the way, in Rome the woman would come to him!

What a film!

MERVskilton Apr 20th, 2006 03:34 AM

Rome would be bloody impossible to do in a Ferrari like that, at anytime of morning or night without any deaths resulting!

WebMeisterWally Apr 24th, 2006 04:10 PM

Found a few other car chase vids on that site as well ..
http://www.shamozzle.com/stockholmchase.html

this uses 2 cameras , the quality is much better than the 'paris' one ...

Utterly irresponsible behavior. The engine and transmission noise turned me off to boot.

My Porsche on the Autobahn - that was driving!

Robespierre Apr 24th, 2006 05:10 PM

Well, I hope he got it out of his system, because he simply doesn't possess the skill to drive that fast and live very long. Besides missed shifts and lack of torque control, he also didn't know how to manage adhesion, as revealed by the jerky motions of the front wheel in close-up.

Hope he doesn't take out some father of four on his way to work when he dies.

MERVskilton Apr 25th, 2006 06:31 AM

Times and attitudes were different on the roads in 1976 in Europe... they were always known for their fast cars and driving.. re: the autobahns..

..what's the SPEED LIMIT these days in on the AUTOBAHNS??

Robespierre Apr 25th, 2006 06:47 AM

The lamebrain stunt in Stockholm was in 2000, according to the film.

Hundreds of miles of Autobahn without speed limits remain.

gomiki Apr 25th, 2006 09:22 AM

Wow!

Mommo Apr 25th, 2006 10:10 AM

Great driving!

Check this out, it's in Firenze...

MERVskilton Apr 25th, 2006 03:21 PM

Is that fairdinkum Robespierre?.. NO actual speed limit on any autobahn in Europe in modern day.. i don't honestly believe it???

Robespierre Apr 25th, 2006 03:37 PM

Huh?

Trophywife007 Apr 25th, 2006 06:11 PM

Thanks, Carta_Pisana for posting this link. It put a big smile on DH's face!

MERV: There really is no speed limit on "much" of the autobahn, which specifically is in Germany... I've heard it's political suicide to suggest otherwise.

WebMeisterWally Apr 26th, 2006 01:44 AM

had another look but didn't notice any missed gearshifts.....and robespierre where did u see the front wheel ???
