Here's a link to an article about the Marche Avenue President wilson, which links through to other markets, like the one on Rue Cler:

http://www.parismarkets.net/PresWilson.html

there's a very useful list of all of the shops along the Rue Cler too.

gracejoan3 Dec 4th, 2011 02:20 AM

That's the one that I use for the markets..a good list and information for all

Joan,
I really enjoyed your market pics. We will surely go to the Saturday market as that is the night I like to cook a meal in and those scallops in the shells look really good. What do you buy there as I know that you do not like to cook? Will be on a search for Beaufort cheese as it is the only time that we get to eat it...did you happen to srr any there? from the Savoy region of France.

gracejoan3 Dec 4th, 2011 04:10 PM

Marcy,

I sent you an email. Not sure you have access??

LCI & Joan, have a nice get-together and hopefully you'll share some photos.

Joan,
I was on The Fork and saw L'Obe listed so I made a reservation through that website instead. Thanks for your help!

FYI, whomever else is in Paris on Christmas Day Rôtisserie du Beaujolais is open after 7pm for dinner. Located on the left bank from Ile St Louis at Pont Marie & Quai de Tournelle on the Seine, across the street from Tour D'Argent. We've enjoyed our meals there very much.

Laidback Dec 6th, 2011 01:57 PM

I did go across the Seine today and shopped the high fashion area. Walked to Rond Point and beyond to Bristol area, etc.

I also had lunch at Plaza Athenee. They have their skating rink set up in the terrace area. Lots of decorations.

I was going to walk across tonight and check lights, but a bit of drizzle..may skip it..

Marcy and her mother will be here shortly and we are going down to Flirt The for afternoon tea and something with Florent. We are going to dinner tonight, too.

Trophywife - I have recently been staying in the Saint Julien, but a water leak of some sort was showing up in apartment below, so I moved into the Champagne today and will be here until I depart. They are in same building, so an easy move.

Yesterday was a great day and evening. Marcy and her mother came by in afternoon and we went down to Flirt The and visited with Florent and had a bite/tea.

Last evening Florent and Michael also joined us at my apartment before dinner and all met one another over a glass of champagne.

We then walked to Reed, stopping to say hello to Christian Constant who was outside Cafe Constant and stopping again at Violon and visiting wih Alexandre. Marcy/mother are dining there this evening and I did want to introduce them. We had a nice table and a complimentary glass of champagne at Reed. We did have quite an evening with lots of conversation and fun. It was 11:30 before we left there! We all took many pictures and I will take a look at them later today.

A brocante on rue Cler today and tomorr. I will go thsi morning as tomorrow we are going to l'Obe-Crillon!

Joan,

We retuned home last night after a delayed then long flight to Dulles. We had a great time meeting you. Our week in Paris was a lot of fun and thanks to you I even learned how to use the bus! I think I am a convert now. Hopefully we will see you in March.

best regards, Lloyd and JoAnn

Joan, Perhaps you could give a few tips on the bus system....for instance we want to take a bus from our area to Luxembourg Gardens and Bon Marche. Which bus would we take? I don't think you will be there when we go in mid may will you?

gracejoan3 Dec 11th, 2011 07:26 AM

cornelius

Go to this site http://www.ratp.fr/ print out any maps that you might want...87, 69, 42, 92, 80 are always good ones...they are then very easy to use. You will want the 87 for Bon Marche and from there to Luxembourg Gardens..

We just returned from an afternoon, I guess you could say at l'Obe (Crillon) where we had a great time..many pictures and lots of conversation with Frederic as he has just returned from a month in Vietnam (where he goes regularly)and Tokyo..He is going back to Tokyo....40M people!!
