I had forgotten about Le Divorse. Thanks for the reminder. I am taking my mother to Paris in September and while she is housesitting for me in April, I am leaving her a shelf full of Paris movies. Will have ot add that one.
Beatchick...So you ate at Le Grand Colbert? Maybe I should take mom there. Thanks! |
Dejais, I think she'd love it - it's a gorgeous setting with the tiles on the floor & the mirrors, service is great, food is superb & not really expensive.
|
Beatchick...Tried to find a web site but can not find one. Any clues? Can you tell me price range? Would this be for a nice evening or just a casual dinner? Perhaps lunch? Going to have to get my DVD out and watch it again!
|
Dejais, I thought it might be on bestrestaurantsofparis.com but I don't see it on there. However, I've found my receipt:
Lillet aperitif - 5.50€ 1/2 bottle Evian- 3.60€ Glass of Lalande Pomerol - 7.00€ Buffalo mozzarello & tomato appetizer - 11.50€ Demi Poulet Fermier (famous roast chicken) 17.50€ Double café - 4.50€ Poire William digestif - 8.80€ Total - 58.40€ Not a bad price for lunch! |
Beatchick...Thanks for going to that trouble. I am copying it into my travel journal and will try and get there with Mom. And this time, there will definitely be a trip report!

We saw today "The return of the Pink Panther."
No one could replace Peter Sellers in the role nor his nemisis played by Kevin Kline. But I went to get the Paris fix. |
I agree cigalechanta. Paris looked great in the movie, as it always does, but I kept comparing Steve Martin to Peter Sellers throughout the movie. It's just not the same, even though I don't think Steve Martin did a bad job. (The accent sounded very forced). And Kevin Kline just didn't work as Dreyfuss, at all.
|
I didn't like that film at all except for the typical buggling that Sellers would do. Reno was wasted.
