I think it is the millenial Bernies that are saying they won't vote Hillary. Just because they are so stubbornly idealistic at their young age. Which is good for tugging Hillary to the left a bit. The spectacle of trump is overshadowing just how interesting the dem race is this election.
Oh yes, we'll need popcorn for the gop convention! |
<Which is good for tugging Hillary to the left a bit.>
I agree wholeheartedly! Ah, the millenials--methinks they will stay home no matter what. I am permanently disillusioned about younger voters in the US, they just never turn out. Google the statistics, if you are so inclined. <The spectacle of trump is overshadowing just how interesting the dem race is this election. > I agree with this, too! |
"<Which is good for tugging Hillary to the left a bit.>
I agree wholeheartedly!" But I have no expectation she will stay there. |
While the Millenials may be "stubbornly idealistic", you can say nearly the same with the Boomers, at least the stubborn part. They are, IME the most egocentric voters in the last 100 years. They are beginning to understand the pragmatic side, and when they do, the Boomers are screwed. Things will change, and luckily, the Millenials actually vote for things in the country's best interest, and not their own.

The whole world is p*ssed off.
The Americans with the illegal immigrants The Europeans with illegal immigrants as well ISIS with everyone Africans with their corrupt governments - ditto parts of Asia North Korea with the USA What parts of the world are not cranky, petuland and 'disenfranchaised'? Everyone just needs to STOP. Take a look at this and maybe this whole nutjob planet will get some perspective. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PN5JJDh78I |
<and luckily, the Millenials actually vote for things in the country's best interest, and not their own.>
Oh please. Where is the evidence to support the claim that this golden generation is superior to every other in its selflessness? |
Is all of this really part of the message from the US Embassy?
|
Well, I'll get back to the original message...
The fact that the attractions and areas with the highest level of tourist activity are the ones with the highest level of police/military protection will do nothing to help assuage the grief of friends and families who lost loved ones who were just doing "normal" things in "normal" neighborhoods. Airports and mass transit stations are relatively easy to get in and out of, if your goal is to hit and run - or blow yourself up - and do as much damage as possible. So, if you can avoid those, so much the better. On the other hand, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, large department stores, etc are swarming with agents protecting access and egress. That's probably where you should go, if you want to feel safe while in Paris - which is directly contrary to all official advice, but there you go. Donald Trump is a hero to many people who will vote for him simply because he is richer than Croesus. They seem to think his money will somehow magically rub off on them - fat chance - Trump didn't get rich by giving any of his loot away. |
>>Here's a very long and interesting article that helps to explain Trump's appeal to some<<
If there's one thing the world needs less than DT, it's another article explaining DT's appeal. |
The embassy graced us with another message this afternoon warning us of the strikes and demonstrations tomorrow. I confess that I deleted it without opening it.
|
Strike tomorrow ? South impacted ?
Better buy my wine today for the barbecue .... |
|
Off topic again. Whathello and NewBe have it right in regards to the American love affair with Trump. Maybe everyone is still enthralled with his "reality" Tv show. Maybe everyone just doesn't want Hillary in office. I personally want neither, so I'm in trouble!
However, back to topic. For my trip in June, I'm personally more worried about CDG and the Metro, than I am about any tourist site. This world has gone insane |
The world has always been insane. It's all the new technology that bombards us with constant information that makes it seem more so.
Unplug and you'll feel better. |
I see Trump managed to sneak out that he would nuke Europe (behind the punishment of aborting women).
Nice to know that 40 years of treaties can be destroyed by one git's drunken meanderings. |
It seems trump loves to denigrate women.
|
Let's give him more credit than that. He's pretty adept at denigrating both genders.
|
I see Trump managed to sneak out that he would nuke Europe <<
Trump doesn't need to nuke Europe, Europe is committing cultural suicide. Sure, Europeasants will cry that they have to pay their own way from now on, but it wont be much longer. Once the caliphate is established you can look to the Saudis to pay your way. It wont be too expensive, because almost everything expensive is against Sharia Law. Even inexpensive wine will be banned |
FrankS
If he doesn't need to do it, why would he say he is prepared to do it? I know he says he is the brightest person he knows but a we say "he should get out more" |
Bilbo,
I just put Trump/Nuke/Europe into the google and got Ted Cruz speculation Trump would nuke Denmark. Is a Ted Cruz rant your source? |
