even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while

I used to buy pistachios in Paris directly at the Maison de l'Iran boutique near my office, but it closed and is now the Heineken megastore, even though it is still in the building owned by the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Champs Elysées (Iran Air is still in its immutable place.).

Now I often buy pistachios at Carrefour, where they reputedly come from California.

So yankees; Are you going to take your pistachio whuppin' lying down like girly men? Or are you going to show the world what the good old US of A can do when confronted by islamic nut superiority?

USA! USA! USA!

Lets us now recite the pledge of allegiance.....

logos999 Nov 5th, 2007 09:49 AM

What an interesting report. So pistacios come from Iran, Syria, the US and Turkey. How does Turkey fit into all of this? Iterestingly it seems that most of the iranian pistaccios are shipped to Germany and repackaged there. How does it all fit together?

Cholmondley_Warner Nov 5th, 2007 09:51 AM

It's an elaborate front.....

waring Nov 5th, 2007 10:07 AM

"Or are you going to show the world what the good old US of A can do when confronted by islamic nut superiority?"

I have heard it said, amongst those in the know, that not only are fundamentalist nuts more numerous than the red, white and blue variety, but also vastly superior in quality.

Yet another hiding for the US of Ameriky.

PalenQ Nov 5th, 2007 10:13 AM

and what about Iran putting WMD inside pistachio nuts?

now we have to bomb the pistachio processing plants as well?

or hiding germs in nuts? Using their German front to resupply them via Aldi or Tengleman to the world

Cholmondley_Warner Nov 5th, 2007 10:15 AM

It's a wonder they can hold their heads up in international circles what with their failiure in the front against muslim nuts.

This site is always full of yanks (well rice beer man; degas and Randy Bender's mate) raving on about "muslim nuts" and here they are having their hat handed to them on a plate by those self same muslim nuts.

Poor show Americans. Poor show.

PalenQ Nov 5th, 2007 10:20 AM

Now it's all coming together

Iran sanctions are really a payoff to California nut producers a la oil and Iraq

a tough nut to crack but we need to keep those nuts inside Iran.

logos999 Nov 5th, 2007 10:38 AM

Don't get your nuts from Aldi, if you want to survive. And don't forget to rename califorian nuts to freedom-nuts. Only this way people will we able to boycott disguised and repackaged iranian nuts and buy genuinely free american nuts.

waring Nov 5th, 2007 10:51 AM

In a civilised country the Head of State would take the gentlemenly way out.

His office door would close, a pause, then a single shot would be heard.......

bear900 Nov 5th, 2007 10:59 AM

In central California where I once lived we had a lot of pistachio orchards.

An out of the area friend and his wife were driving by a local stand that had the word hyphenated on a sign.

She turned to her husband and in phonics asked,” What’s a pista-kio?”

Never lived it down!

Cholmondley_Warner Nov 5th, 2007 11:02 AM

Sadly in this case I doubt a headshot would be fatal.

TTPFKAAEFANKACW:

I think it's awful for you to insult Queenie like that - after all you are a civil (?) servant swearing allegiance presumably to the Crown.

Queenie may not be the brightest star in a rather dim royal galaxy but give her more credit than that

Prince Philip will be in contact with you - talk about dim bulbs!

kerouac Nov 5th, 2007 11:23 AM

I'd say that the Islamo-fascists have already won. After all, the rose is a plant originating from Persia, and what is the most famous vegetation around the White House? -- the Rose Garden!

waring Nov 5th, 2007 11:24 AM

England holds it head high you the pistachio fiasco of your own making.

I was going to say, that while tricky, Mr Bush, with the aid of some mirrors, a vice and some string, could feasibly shoot himself square in the arse.

bear900 Nov 5th, 2007 11:29 AM

Just take away his Beano.

PalenQ Nov 5th, 2007 11:43 AM

<could feasibly shoot himself square in the arse>

he wouldn't have to with Dick Cheney around!

Dick IS pretty good at skeet shooting.

<Iran is the world's biggest supplier of pistachio nuts.

CHOLMONDLEYTRUFACT.>

I am sadly dissapointed in that i thought you, unlike waring, willit or flanner, have a 'proper' education and yet you right

Tru(e) fact

what facts are not true? Budman's perhaps.
