HP beans are the best, but you can't get them everywhere.

I have found an American brand of Pork and Beans, which are a passable substitute for God's Own Baked Beans, but for the life of me, I can't see or taste any pork.

I wouldn't eat McD's if I was starving to death because I just hate it. But, if you want to eat with the natives in Europe, go to McD's. That's where they're eating!

Hey, come on. The greek salad is o.k. and so is the 1€ standard salad. Even the "cocktail tomatoes" taste somewhat like tomato and the "greek" feta cheese imitate comes rather close to the real thing except that it's made from cow milk. :-). If you take the salad out of it's plastic container and put it on a nice plate even you wouldn't know the difference. And most of the vegetables you get in the supermarket are worse.
Do they really use needles to inject sugar into the cocktail tomatoes? That's what I've heared...

Not true. This past summer on the Spanish Med. Coast, we had to stop at McD's for lunch (no other place was opened because of the weird opening hours of Spanish restaurants), and it was a fairly warm day so I was at least looking forward to an iced drink.

Guess what? No ice.

I usually try to avoid McDonald's if at all possible, but sometimes I will eat there.

By the way, for those of you that love to eat at McDonald's, I recommend the movie "Super Size Me".

You will seriously reconsider how many times you eat at McDonald's after that...

My, My from McD to the loo. Here is a test for some folks, in Northwest Florida, go into any store and ask to use the bathroom. If they refuse, tell them, according to your building permit, when this building was c.o., you were required to have at least one bathroom for the public, customer or not, so let me use it or I am calling the local building inspection department to complain. I am sure most all places in the U.S. have the same requirements.

Back in 1996 we went by a MCD's in Prague. It was mobbed with local kids and adults who probably waited anxiously to get in the place. We lined up just as well and had one of the most memorable experiences watching the faces of local kids light up when opening the hamburger wrap. Priceless.

I'm surprised they didn't pick up the excrement and make hamburger patties out of it. That is exactly the level of the food at McD's.

That Europeans are eating it too only indicates that some Europeans have as little regard for quality or their health as Americans do.

There are people in Europe who can't afford to eat out any better than McD's. Just like here!

we bought two large baguette sandwiches from a bakery in Auxerre France for less than E7. We remarked at how that was a bargain compared to McD - fresh ingredients, delicious and far healthier
Because poorer people buy something, does not mean that it is good value. Visit any supermarket and watch. McD is Not good value.

Agreed. Imagine the healthy meals that a bag of dried lentils could provide. McD's has nothing to do with poverty.

As for McDonald's, I don't believe in paying money to make myself sick. I have enough stress in my life, and there are enough toxins in the air that I can absorb for free.
