We're heading to Venice, Milan and Lake Garda for 2 weeks this summer. We have....25 people traveling with us. 13 of them are kids :). Maybe someone has room for me in their smaller group LOL!!!
Still looking for the perfect place in Milan for 2 nights.
Cheers!

Our family of 4 (parents and 2 teen boys) is going to Italy for the third time in 2006. We will be joined by two of the kids' friends and my sister and her friend. We'll be in Positano at the end of July and Rome in early August. This is the first time we've stayed in weekly rentals. We are already excited!

I was able to get a free business class ticket with AA advantage program. I leave SAT for Rome August 28th.Stay in Italy for 10 or more days then fly to Paris..Take the TGV for Avignon.

I still dont have a precise itinerary. My sister lives near Uzes and she mentioned that perhaps we may go for 2 weeks in Peniscula,Spain.I would love that very much.
Of course on my way back I will enjoy the beautiful Ville Lumiere, at least for few days.
Then Sept. 26, with great regret I will once again say goodbye to my old Europe and hello Texas.
Then the familiar pattern will start once again..with me dreamings and planning for my next trip to my beloved city.

Husband and I are planning an 8-day trip in fall 2006 to Venice and Rome, although our itinerary might change to include another city or town. All of my grandparents were from Italy (Venice, Lucca, Milan). Can't wait!

My two friends and I will be in Italy from Mar. 19 to Mar. 28. Will spend three nights each in Venice, Florence and Rome.

I still can't believe this, but I'm going to be in Rome from March 17th to 24th. I landed an incredible fare of $250 Israel-Rome including all taxes, AND I'll be earning airmiles.
I've never been there and very curious. I'll probably take 1-2 daytrips. I managed to secure Hotel Giardino for 90E per night, a bit too high for me, but there was no choice, really - hotels are so expensive there.
I can't wait!

We're going April 16 for 24 days. Landing in Nice, taking 5 days thru Liguria incl. Cinque Terre, a week in a villa in northern Tuscany, a week in southern Tuscany following maitaitom's itinerary pretty much and ending with 4 days in Rome. Been there several times before, but get excited every time.

My 1st trip to Europe since 1988 & 1st time in Italy [I know ... what have I been waiting for, right?]. One month roadtrip Apr 27-May 31.

Week 1 Munich to Venice: the romantic road, castles, Lake Garda, canals
Week 2 Southern Tuscany: hilltop towns, wine & food
Week 3 Rome & Amalfi Coast: arhitecture & vertigo
Week 4 Sicily: old italy, cooking class

Excited? Beyond words!

You all are killing me. We have to wait until February of 2007 before we can go back (45th wedding anniversary).

We just came back in late October and I can't wait to go back. This time we will spend a week in Naples area ending up in Rome for a day or two before flying back.

Your all so lucky to go in 2006.

I will be there January 17-24th. Florence, Rome, then a couple days in Barcelona. I'm amazed how much research I've had to do to prepare. In a way, the anticipation is part of the fun.

Hi LYB -- Re Why we are going to Trieste:

My daughter lives in Trieste, and we were able to get Delta business FF tickets in March, though on Air France, and time off from work. (Seems like everyone's trying to use up Delta Miles!) Our son used to work for the Jolly Hotel chain (the only Jolly in USA is in Manhattan, but there are many in Europe) and he can get us a discount, so we usually stay there, though we have stayed at the Alabarda etcetc.

Trieste is relatively small city, but located near Croatia & Slovenia, so we've been able to take some interesting excursions. It's about a 2-hr train ride or 1 1/2 hour drive to Venice...we've done both. It's near Croatia & Slovenia, and we've done day trips as well as extended trips in the area. (Though if it's possible, i prefer Southern Italy!)

Did you decide yet whether or not to go? Did you say you were going in Oct? The weather is beautiful, and not so many tourists. If you still want more info, let me know.
