Random House must have a How To Design a Website book and they can use their employee discount.

It takes about 30 seconds for this site to do anything. Maybe they are sending the electrons up to Michigan by mule train.

Just shut this thing down for a couple of days until the intern with the paper clip comes back from getting coffee for everybody.

Happy to know it isn't just me!!

Hey all,

More than likely the site is load-balanced across multiple servers. If a server, or multiple servers has/have been down for maintenance, upgrade, replacing, that would explain the slowness, especially on the same platform across several different browsers.

Still slow as molasses.

Do you old timers on the Forum remember when there was an actual person who apparently read at least some of the threads and would write back to tell us about the site changes, and explain why threads were deleted? What was her name --- "Annie"? (Alzheimers is kicking in) Wouldn't it be nice if we got feedback like that again?

Feedback: The entry after my last post here was from me and I requested that it be deleted. My post said that my next post took 50 seconds before I received a time limit shutoff, along with some technical data. I included the tech stuff and reposted. Then I noticed that my ISP number was in the tech data so I asked that Fodor's remove my post. Thanks Fodor's for the prompt action.

The molasses has warmed up just a bit here in Michigan.

I thought it was my PC , good to hear that I do not have a problem.

It works nice and zippy for me. ;^)

Very, very slow at times, fast at others. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason except for those ads that seem to hang things up.

kleeblatt Aug 15th, 2013 03:47 PM

So...s...sl...slo...slow

OceanBreeze1 Aug 15th, 2013 04:29 PM

O...M..G...the past few days it has been the slowest ever.
I just did my nails while waiting!

PS,
Hi, schuler,
Thanks for the laugh on that other thread where we are in desperate need of something to break the pattern. Whew! Glad to be out of there!
