You'll be missed! Have a wonderful time! Bon chance...bon voyage
(and now I've got the song Poison Ivy running around my head...) |
Have fun ira!
|
Bon voyage. And if anybody posts a story about the seatmate who scratched his way across the Atlantic, we'll tell them they were lucky to be sitting next to you and hope they took some of your travel advice.
|
If Elle's excellent advice doesn't work, I'm sure a couple of visits to Pierre Herme will cure what ails you! Have a terrific time and please give our regards to Napoleon.
|
Thank's allfor your happy thoughts.
Larry_M I feel for you. Fortunately my cas is not that bad. grandmere, do you want a report, or is the du Lys a suggestion? |
I thought that when I was waxing eloquent about it a few months ago, you said you wanted to look at it when you were in Paris, to compare it to Bonaparte. They're both around same price, I believe, 2 stars, good locations, etc. I saw Bonaparte when I was in Paris in Mar., but did not ask to see a room; should have.
Have a wonderful time! And how could you not?! |
Re weather: maybe just lucky, but every time I've been to Europe since able to check weather on internet, it's always been better than the forecast. Bonne chance!

<<Remember, rain is only water.... it dries.>>
What a memory this brings back for me. I was in Normandy with a student exchange program (I was the accompagnateur, not a student), and we went on a field trip to a nearby chateau one day - - walking the one-and-a-half miles there and back (does this happen in America anymore with schoolchildren?). Anyhow, it started to rain, and all the kids started screaming and crying out "what are we gonna do?" ... and for a brief moment, it looked just like the same countryside that Tom Hanks and company were walking through in "Saving Private Ryan", and I thought - - "Raindrops!" - - these are RAINDROPS! You can get hit by a lot worse than raindrops, as Americans, and Frenchmen, and Germans, and Aussies and Poles and more... could attest to, on that hallowed ground. I haven't gotten worked up by finding myself out walking when rain starts... ever since that day. Have a great trip, ira... Best wishes, Rex |
Have a wonderful trip, Ira. If there is anything that can take your mind off poison ivy, it has to be Paris! We will eagerly await your trip report as it is sure to make our September trip better! Bon voyage!
|
Bon voyage and don't forget a magic word ... presents!
Have fun! |
Have a great trip Ira. Paris is a great place to get over the poison ivy! I will look for your report with some more great ideas for Paris.
Have fun! |
Measles make you bumpy
And mumps'll make you lumpy And chicken pox'll make you jump and twitch A common cold'll fool ya And whooping cough'll cool ya But poison ivy, Lord'll make you itch!! -- "Poison Ivy", by the great songwriting team of Jerry Lieber & Mike Stoller Au revoir, Ira. Hope you have a wonderful time! |
Ira, When are you coming back?
|
Ira is probably on the way to the airport by now or even airborne, and can't answer the question of when he is coming back. Hope he comes back safe. ((b))
|
sigh~ I would rather have poison ivy in Paris than in Florida ....
I look forward to the report~ |
Ira, I'm sure you're sipping on a glass of wine at 33,000 feet by now. Don't pay attention to the weather predictions. Part of my recent trip to Europe predicted rain/snow every day of my week's stay in Interlaken. Well it did snow heavily the first day followed by 6 GLORIOUS, SUNNY days. Have A Great Trip !!! Mike

Ira, in case you check Fodors while in Paris: "Tous mes voeux pour un bon voyage!"
If anything can make you forget poison ivy, Paris should do it. When I'm there, far from home and all that implies, I enjoy a most euphoric sort of temporary amnesia. |
I am wondering if flying much safer then driving, why then we never tell in the morning
"Hope he comes back safe." (Budman) |
Hi, Ira... sorry I didn't see this until today. You should be in Paris now, enjoying yourself. Hope the poison ivy is better. I find the best thing for that is an anti-histimine and calomine lotion. Some people do well with the cortizone ointments, though. Looking forward to reading your trip report :-)
Best, Sandy |
p.s. Hope you're having a wonderful trip!
Best, Sandy |
