Ira's Off to Paris
Hi all,
Leaving for Paris this evening. Have checked the weather reports - rain predicted everyday of our visit. Yesterday, I thought I would do some weeding. Result: I have poison ivy. Au revoir. Trip report on return. |
Ira, the best treatment for poison ivy is a good bottle of French wine, taken internally.
When we went last month, the forecast said rain everyday, but we ending up having beautiful weather with just two spotty showers. Have a time that's magnifique, then come back and tell us all about it. |
Have a wonderful trip, Ira.
Can't wait to read of your adventures. Byrd |
My two solid weeks of rain prediction in early April turned into two days with intermittent light showers - forget what the weather reports are telling you.
I'm sure there will be some wonder cream for your poison ivy at a Paris pharmacy, too - some of those those French remedies are superb. And browing around the phramacies is a treat in itself. Bonne route! |
ira -
Have a wonderful and safe journey. I've learned a lot of information from your posts, and look forward to your trip report when you return, when I'm sure I'll learn something new. Peace. Robyn |
ira:
Benadryl for the poison ivy. Have a great time! ==Mike |
Say hello to Madame for me....Tell her that we enjoyed our stay very much..We were there July 18 for 4 days..she probably remember Trevor, my 9 years old hansome grandson..
Bon Voyage, |
Ira, sorry to hear of your poison ivy. That'll teach you to do the weeding!
Have a lovely trip. Please give Bonaparte the cat a scratch behind the ears for me! (and you, too, if you need one!) |
Ira: Wishing you a fabulous trip. Don't pay much attention to the weather reports. They tend to be inaccurate. Do something out of the ordinary and share upon your return.
|
ira, weather is always unpredictable.
Don't scratch the itch, it can spread your druggist can give you something to control it. Have a wonderful time and we all wish you great weather and moments. |
Ira, there's never bad weather, only bad clothes.
Although I've never been there, I will continue to recommend that restaurant in Orvieto to folks in your name until you return. Have a happy and safe trip. ((b)) |
Have a great trip. Remember, rain is only water.... it dries. When I figured that out in Rome this month things got infinitely brighter!
|
have a great trip. paris is even beautiful and romantic in the rain.

Ira - A few years ago I was plagued with poison ivy nearly every summer, and came across an over-the-counter product called Zanfel. It is an abrasive scrub, and quite expensive at $40 for a container. But one small tube goes a long way, and worked like a miracle...the itching is relieved almost immediately, and the hives receded within 24 hours.
And no, I don't work for the company, but I remember an agonozing flight some years ago, from Las Vegas to Philadelphia...the red eye, in the middle seat, with full blown poison ivy all over my legs, 5 of the most miserable hours I can recall. If you get some today, I'm sure your flight will be much more tolerable. Have a great trip! |
Have a good trip, Ira! I recommend Fluocinonide Gel, USP, 0.05% for the poison ivy. Your doctor can order it for you.
We're off to Paris in September, so I will be looking for those detailed restaurant reports you write so well. Enjoy! |
Salutations Ira ! (and don't forget to have a Big Mac for us). M. |
Bon Voyage! Get the Zanfel and get rid of the poison ivy. I'm already looking forward to your trip report!
|
Oh, and stay away from Pigalle -- I don't think the folks on this board can come up with a cure for what you could catch there. ((a)) ((b))
|
Lucky you! For your Paris adventure, not the poison ivy. My husband got poison ivy a couple of years ago right before our trip to Thailand. He still had a wonderful time. I look forward to your report.
|
Check out Hotel du Lys, 23 rue Serpente, if you get a chance. Serpente runs off rue Danton(which runs off Blvd. St. Germain, near Boul Mich'!
Bon voyage! |
