Interesting Spam

Hi all,

Looked at my email and found an unsolicited message regarding "Paris Hilton's Private Movie Event".

Wondering what might be going on at the Hilton in Paris, I opened it.

Turned out to be an ad for a porn star named Paris Hilton.

Degas Dec 2nd, 2003 12:59 PM

ira, how did you like the movie?

Opening that spam means you will get flooded with trashy stuff.

Scarlett Dec 2nd, 2003 12:59 PM

LOL ira,
Paris Hilton is the daughter of the Hilton Hotel heirs. She and her (ex) boyfriend had some fun and video taped it and now it is on the internet.
I don't think she is considered a Porn Star yet :)

ira Dec 2nd, 2003 01:06 PM

They actually named their kid Paris Hilton?

No wonder.

dln Dec 2nd, 2003 01:08 PM

Ira, you are too funny! As Scarlett says, she's an heiress. Spoiled brat exhibitionist heiress, but not a porn star (yes, yes, we know how society's standards have slipped). You can even watch her tonight on Fox TV--she's starring with Lionel Richie's daughter in "The Simple Life" in which the two darlings are tossed onto an Arkansas farm to see how long they can take it for.

ira Dec 2nd, 2003 01:14 PM

OH! That Paris Hilton.

Kay_M Dec 2nd, 2003 01:17 PM

LOL! And I thought this forum would be the one place where I would not be subjected to more Paris Hilton /:)
ira, if you've never heard of Paris Hilton, consider yourself a lucky man.

Scarlett Dec 2nd, 2003 01:17 PM

I always wondered why they would name her Paris..like the other daughter should be named Prague? or a son named Rome Hilton? :)

Patrick Dec 2nd, 2003 01:19 PM

The mind reels:

"Paris Hilton, the best place to put your head down for the night."

"Looking for a sleepless night? Paris Hilton".

"You've slept with the rest. Now it's time for the best -- Paris Hilton."

Sorry, I have many more, but they slip well past the PG-13 rating.

AR Dec 2nd, 2003 01:19 PM

I had this e-mail too. Glad you opened it instead of me!!! At least now I know what it contained but without the follow up spams. LOL

Scarlett Dec 2nd, 2003 01:22 PM

I haven't noticed any Paris Hilton spam so far but they keep trying to sell me things to enlarge parts that I don't even have!! :o

Patrick Dec 2nd, 2003 01:24 PM

Scarlett, didn't the Hiltons try to buy the leaning tower in Pisa and turn it into a hotel? The Tiltin' Hilton??

Jocelyn_P Dec 2nd, 2003 01:26 PM

Stop it Patrick--you sound like my husband!

Marilyn Dec 2nd, 2003 02:04 PM

They are also planning a UK location that focuses on cheese -- the Stilton Hilton.

maitaitom Dec 2nd, 2003 02:20 PM

How about the hotel where you can discard your lover - The Jiltin' Hilton.
((H))

KT Dec 2nd, 2003 02:27 PM

Or the one where you can regain Paradise Lost: the Milton Hilton?

For the best in Passover fish, it's the Gefilten Hilton.

Scarlett Dec 2nd, 2003 02:35 PM

They wanted to paint on gold and it would have been Gilten Hilton :)

~sorry :) ~

jody Dec 2nd, 2003 02:45 PM

You all are just TOO FUNNY!!

Ira..my dear, you must start reading the Enquirer headlines while waiting to check out at the grocers!

Patrick..give us more!!

ParadiseLost Dec 2nd, 2003 02:49 PM

Scarlett: I heard somewhere that her parents named her Paris because she was conceived there. Think of the other possibilitys :).
KT: I should have come-up with that one :). Regards, Walter

Giovanna Dec 2nd, 2003 02:53 PM

Is it true that before Viagra it was the Wiltin' Hilton? Poor Paris.

uhoh_busted Dec 2nd, 2003 02:54 PM

Its really sad how those wealthy folk mis-name their children. No wonder they often turn so rebellious. I understand the the guy who invented the Lear jet (Edward??) named his first daughter Chanda. tsk tsk tsk.

Oh well, I guess Paris is always going to be more romantic than Omaha...

ecat Dec 2nd, 2003 03:08 PM

Awww Giovanna you took my Wiltin' Hilton line ;)

Paris Hilton! I just hope we never have a thread about Justin Timberlake on here big uggggg!

cigalechanta Dec 2nd, 2003 03:09 PM

LOL, Ira, I get two or three a day. I don't open them but would be glad to forward them. She's on a new reality show if you want to see more(in clothes) of her.

jody Dec 2nd, 2003 03:15 PM

It's not only wealthy folk who misname their children.

I had a position where I had to get people's names for their purchases..

my 2 favorites..and believe me it was hard to keep a straight face..

Fonda Peters

Iva Titlow

No joke..someone actually called their kids that!

dln Dec 2nd, 2003 03:21 PM

I suppose that if Paris Hilton can make on an Arkansas farm, we should call her Quiltin' Hilton?

Giovanna Dec 2nd, 2003 03:35 PM

Too funny Jody! I had a teacher in high school named Miss Alenius. Everyone was furious when she got married and changed her name.

I remember on my first job I prepared in advance electrician's licenses which they renewed the first of the year. I cracked up when I typed a license for Harry Bottoms, and I prayed he would request his license by mail. He didn't, I had to duck behind the counter when he came in, contain myself and handle the transaction as best I could!

His folks must have really hated him!

Marilyn Dec 2nd, 2003 03:44 PM

Giovanna, I have a friend who is dating a man named Harry Cox.

ecat Dec 2nd, 2003 04:00 PM

Marilyn, I dated a guy whose last name was "Smallbone" - we decided if we ever got married we would be taking my last name.

Kay_M Dec 2nd, 2003 04:03 PM

In Toronto there is a subway stop called Coxwell. When the voiceover on the train says Coxwell, Coxwell, there is always some smartass kid who says it's fine, thanks.

sojourner Dec 2nd, 2003 04:17 PM

ParadiseLost,
<<I heard somewhere that her parents named her Paris because she was conceived there.>>
So do you think that's why Mom & Dad named me Studebaker?

Patrick and all the rest of you: MORE!! MORE!!

Marilyn Dec 2nd, 2003 04:24 PM

The Studebaker line was so good, here's your reward:

The hotel in Scotland is named the Kiltin' Hilton.

sassy27 Dec 2nd, 2003 04:39 PM

Ok, I have to add a name for you all. I used to work for a healthcare insurance company and got a call from a man wanting to know if Viagra was covered. When I asked his name to pull up his account, he told me it was Willy Long. This really was his name.

Shanna Dec 2nd, 2003 04:57 PM

Oh my - I do love these people!! I can always come to Fodors for a laugh!

jody Dec 2nd, 2003 05:00 PM

I t doesn't rhyme ...but The Undertaker in Brownwwod TX was ..Groaner Pitts!!

kismetchimera Dec 2nd, 2003 06:03 PM

Paris Hilton is just a very Sick Spoiled Rich Girl that loves attentions, perphas mummy and Daddy were too Busy with their social life to give her love, instead they gave her materials things to make up for their absence .I actually pity and feel sorry for her..

Patrick Dec 2nd, 2003 06:43 PM

I'm appalled at the idea that she was named Paris because she was conceived there. Now at long last I understand my friend's name, "Kitchen Table Smith".

Patrick Dec 2nd, 2003 06:45 PM

I just thought of something. All you old-timers, do you remember when they said that registration would kill any fun or humor on this site?

Scarlett Dec 2nd, 2003 06:55 PM

Imagine how many kids conceived in the 50's would be named Back Seat Johnny or Jane ~

Clifton Dec 2nd, 2003 07:00 PM

Just be thankful her parents were in the French capital at the time. Imagine if they'd been in Thailand's instead.

Although with the current video thing...

dln Dec 2nd, 2003 07:06 PM

..it might have been apropo!
