How does everyone have time to post to Fodors?

Hi, just curious, but what are all of you doing at the moment that allows you to have time to post on this message board? Me, I usually have a lot of down time at work, not to mention it's a nice break... just curious :)

Some of us have become very skilled at managing (the annoying interruption of) our work, threading it in here and there in between our times online.

Some folks work odd hours, and others not at all.

I'm sort of a hybrid of all the above.

;)

Best wishes,

Rex

Fast typing and a fortunate position in the office where nobody can see my screen!

In addition to what Rex said, one finds ways to attend to their addiction. After coming here for 4 or 5 years it is a joy to see all of my fodorite freinds here.
I am off work now so I have the luxury to come here often.
Happy Monday!!!!!!!!

Just quick peeking and typing as my screen is facing the passing eyes of everyone.

Self employed and work at home...works for me!!!!!

aduren Sep 13th, 2004 08:03 AM

LOL so basically everyone is in the same position as me: bored at work, like to talk about Europe to make the day more exciting... it's made me not want to bang my head at my desk sometimes!

Retired! Lots of vacant time. "Keep on Posting."

NYCFoodSnob Sep 13th, 2004 08:27 AM

What time? With 3 screens and Mach 7 Modem Speed (7 Mbps), it takes me longer to unsnap by bra.

annesherrod Sep 13th, 2004 08:33 AM

NYCFoodSnob - LOL - the visual makes me giggle!
Earlier I said I am off work, I meant to say I am unemployed at the present. Looking presently for a Marketing job.
maybe I will just stay home and write a book!!!!!

Fortunate enough to be retired and am I enjoying it.

Jocelyn_P Sep 13th, 2004 08:36 AM

I'm a stay-at-home-mom, so between housework, running errands, and keeping the kids safe and happy I always manage to escape to Fodorland for a few minutes here and there.

I am the director of my department at one of America's most prestigious auction houses. So, I have no boss. Plus, I have a very efficient secretary. I really do nothing all day but come here, and page through HELLO! magazines like I am at the bloody hair salon. (Someone is now looking for a glass of Pol Roger for me.)

So good to hear from you, Snobby. I leave for Paris tomorrow evening.

Cheers,
John G.

I struck it rich years ago when hula hoops first came out - been circling the globe ever since!

I'm just very good at multi-tasking. :) I manage to get all my employment work done AND post on Fodors, as well as another message board simultaneously.

The work I typically need to get done at home might be another story, however. :O My husband gets on me about the good old "Fodors Addiction" when the laundry starts piling up, and then he usually gives up and does it himself anyhow. :)

Amanda23 Sep 13th, 2004 08:45 AM

I am glad to see that there are others who steal away time at work, makes me feel less guilty when I do it too!

sol_veracruzano Sep 13th, 2004 09:02 AM

I'm good at multi-tasking

and.... nobody reads english in my office

;)

NYCFoodSnob Sep 13th, 2004 09:07 AM

Thin, I'll be in Paris on Friday. Maybe we can meet at the Bar du Plaza Athénée and catch the last of the Fashion'Ice selection. Sure will beat that lonely BA lounge.

Safe travels, dear.

ps If you spot a tall, leggy blonde who looks like she could have modeled one day long ago, be sure and check out her shoes. If you see Venetian glass flowers gracing a lovely pedicure, that's me. Be sure and say hello.

Little_Man Sep 13th, 2004 09:15 AM

I get a lot less done than I should. I'll walk by my computer on my way to do something I should be doing, and it just call out to me! It's an addiction...

cigalechanta Sep 13th, 2004 09:18 AM

I'm retired but leave the computer on as I work around the house .
Bon Voyage John, and NYSnob.
