The Great Muppet Caper! Metroland.
INDISCREET (1958) Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman, directed by Stanley Donen. This picture made me want to go to London and it's what films aren't anymore...effortlessly charming.<BR><BR>And to be accurate, MY FAIR LADY and MARY POPPINS were set in London, but filmed in Los Angeles and Burbank, California respectively.
Oh Mimi, I loved Touch of Class! Especially when George Segal couldn't get the car out of second gear. Was Alfie filmed in London? Didn't Midnight Lace with Doris Day and Rex Harrison take place there too? Oh, I'm showing my age. Glad to hear that others remember those great movies from the 60's too. How about parts of Hard Day's Night and Help?

Madame Sousatka, with Shirley MacLaine and Twiggy. Very British. Love Pride and Prejudice, too.
Speaking of Rita Tushingham-how about<BR> A TASTE OF HONEY?<BR> <BR><BR>
For Ursula;<BR>that was jane Birkin was later fame is as a french actress and married to Serge Gainsboro. His daughter Charlotte is featured in this season's La Buche.
Taste of Honey was filmed in Liverpool.
Is Liverpool not in London?<BR>ROYAL WEDDING<BR> with Fred Astaire and some vintage shots of Queen Elizabeth..<BR>MORGAN with<BR>Vanessa Redgrave and David Warner~<BR>do we win a prize:) ?
C-no Liverpool is a seperate city. Morgan is a very funny film and holds up well. Georgie girl was with Lynn Redgrave and Charlotte Rampling. I think Alan Bates was the male lead.
Hi Mimi, I loved "Goodbye Mr. Chips", with Peter O'Toole and Petula Clark. Remember the song "London is London"? I always hear that when I think of London. <BR>judy :-)
Nobody mentioned the last James Bond movie (I forgot the name of it) where he falls off the hot air balloon and falls onto the millenium dome. The chase scene on the Thames was exciting.
This is great, you are all hot!Now how could I forget one of the funniest films of all time-a must see,<BR>"The lavender Hill Mob".
Was Frenzy photographed in London?
FRENZY was filmed in London, so was Hitchcock's STAGE FRIGHT (Dietrich is marvelous, but the rest of the film is dullsville). FRENZY is one of the few films that does not have the Hitchcock walk-on. Originally, an opening shot was to feature a body floating face up on the Thames. On closer view, it was a dummy that resembled Hitchcock. As I recall, the shot was scrapped, as Hitch felt it was a "comic" opening to what was his most grim and uncompromising film.
Speaking of Hitchcock: The Man Who Knew Too Much? <BR>Wings of the Dove?
How about the original "Bedazzled" with Peter Cook and Dudley Moore?
In Frenzy, when the crowd is gathered at the edge of the water while they fish the body out of the water, Alfred Hitchcock is one of the crowd..he looks and then turns away..<BR>*Was Lolita with James Mason in London? :) this is fun~c
