Actually I just happened to look at it online today. The article was published a few days ago.

When I looked at the clue last night, I discovered that Richter painted his father with a dog (I think). But I couldn't find a series of dog paintings. So guessing Richter did enable me to get part of the clue, but I think that it'd have taken me a long time if I hadn't stumbled upon the article.

I booked my hotel on PL in Chicago. I'm relieved.

I found an interesting clue to give.

Two artists are both known by this name (1st letter = c, 9 letters). One is the other's (type of relative: 5 letters). The first artist is more famous than the second and is known for painting views of (city: 6 letters). The second artist has painted a view of another city (7 letters).

I've been researching Dresden. I didn't know about this. I was thinking "Hmm.... Canaletto painted a view of Dresden? That's interesting." Started Googling.

This city (9, "n" = 6) is the 4th largest city in this country (6). It has been named the 2008 (4 words: 8,7,2,7). One of the city's attraction is a museum dedicated to (matter: 3).

That would be Stavanger, which in 2008 will be the "European Capital of Culture". The 3-letter word might be 'art'.

Since we seem to have a supportive Fodor's editor these days, maybe we can get Fodor's to award a prize to the person who answers the most number of questions correctly?

The game started out with asking fairly simple single-part questions, most of which didn't require research. Then questions got more and more difficult. I think you and YK were "too good," so then the multi-part question routine began.
