Not annoying me at all . . . Quite fun messing with him. He now has a thread going on the Asia forum. He went from really nervous planning a trip to Germany with his father last summer, to a trip with his cousin to Europe, to a college visit the same month with his sister,to a trip to Japan. . . . Who wouldn't enjoy this saga???

Lmao ima start a tv series on this. This is why I cant be doing this type of stuff because im too indecisive and new things pop up. Lax-CDG, MUC-LAX June 12-26 Buying the tickets Wednesday. Its final. :)

Im trying to book the CVJM Munchen hotel in advance on Kayak, but it wont let me book. I might just have to book it there like I did last year. But the Ibis Paris hotel on 15 rue cambronne I will book in advance.

Travel_Nerd Apr 8th, 2019 08:16 AM

Book with the hotel directly rather than with a booking site.

Make sure they offer free cancellation (usually up to 24 - 48 hours before scheduled check in). With your chronic indecisiveness, this is probably needed.

butterfingers Apr 8th, 2019 08:36 AM

Travel_Nerd Dont worry I have made up my mind this time. The only thing is, it says that the rooms are all booked. That’s crazy. I mean I can look for other hotels but that Ibis one had amazing customer service, was close to everything, and was very cheap.

janisj Apr 8th, 2019 08:47 AM

No, that is not crazy at all. Cheap accommodations, with excellent customer service, in decent locations will be be the very first to book up.

If the site says that it's all booked - it probably is! Arriving at the hotel - in the summer - without a booking may not get you a room! Contact the hotel directly to confirm.

If they're booked, look somewhere else. You may have to go with another company/hotel entirely.

Now you're seeing the results of your indecisiveness....and waiting any longer isn't going to help you for a trip to a popular city that is 2 months away. This is why I actually book hotels first - I can always change my mind (if they allow cancelation).

Bottom line, don't just "show up" the day of your arrival and hope you get a room - that may not happen. If the trip were in January - you might be able to do that. In June? Probably not.

Lol the sun will still shine tomorrow. Ill just search for other options.

butterfingers Apr 8th, 2019 11:02 AM

I just want to go all out and have some amazing moments during this summer because I will be starting college after. That is where all the responsibilities begin. I have a mix of excitement and hesitation towards college and all that because on one hand, it is great to experience something new and grow older, but also I will miss not having serious responsibilities and not having to worry about taxes/mortgage .

starrs Apr 8th, 2019 11:23 AM

Just do it.

J62 Apr 8th, 2019 12:53 PM

Just do it. Not a bother to me at all & I quite enjoy his inquisitive nature. I wish I had this kind of help first time I took a trip to Europe pre internet days. Back then it was "Europe on $5 a day" travel book for lodging/cheap eats), a few Michelin travel guides (for seeing sites), a printed train schedule, and a Eurail or Interrail pass to get around by train.

Plus insider tips from fellow travelers on where it was ok to sleep in a train station, which bars were open all night, where to get Eastern European currency on the black market at 5:1 or 10:1 the official exchange rate, picking up incoming mail at an AMEX office or post office, and other must-know things.

If someone doesn't like your posts they can simply ignore them rather than posting snarky comments.

Is it possible to send a letter to Angela merkel or the German Parliament? They are ruining Germany :(

starrs Apr 9th, 2019 04:09 AM

In what way, the bread is still very dark, the beer is certainly acceptable, the wine fantastic. I guess dropping the B from the language was certainly a big shock. What exactly has upset your view of Germany especially with your massive experience of the country?

I'll drink to that. Eins, zwei, g'suffa

butterfingers Apr 9th, 2019 07:05 AM

Its just about politics. Lol but I love the bread. I thought France would have the best bread, but I was dead wrong.

bilboburgler Apr 9th, 2019 07:14 AM

Nah the Danes have the best bread

jc_uk Apr 9th, 2019 07:33 AM

It's all becoming very tiresome and immature in my opinion, I'll stop reading the thread.
