Hiking in Spain in March and bike trip in Loire Valley France in May--both with our 2 boys--next year hopefully will be in Italy and Greece

Treesa Aug 3rd, 2003 01:08 PM

We went to Paris in March. But since I retired in July (hubby calls me unemployed), if I see any super duper deals I'm off to....Italy, France or Spain?

BoulderCO Aug 3rd, 2003 01:12 PM

Going to Italy for two weeks in September. Going to Bellagio, Santa Margherita, Tuscany, and Rome.

jacksonjr Aug 3rd, 2003 02:09 PM

Went to France in May going to Germany in September.

crazymina Aug 3rd, 2003 02:19 PM

sfowler, Kosovo and Macedonia? That sounds neat! Did you post a report somewhere?

I went for four months in the beginning of the year. Getting the itch again, and would like to go somewhere in Europe I haven't been. I think Scotland may be the answer this time for fall......

England (London, Bath, Devon) and France (mostly Paris) for a month in May, Orvieto for 10 days in July.

Other trips this year are likely to be Mexico for Day of the Dead and/or SE Asia in December.

Vienna, Prague and more in May with our three daughters, perhaps our "last hurrah" as a family of five (they are 19, 20 and 22). My twenty-fourth trip to Europe.

Best wishes,

Rex

I went all over Italy for 2 weeks. It was marvelous!!!

i_am_kane Aug 3rd, 2003 02:55 PM

Loved every minute of our trip in May to the Ligurian Region of Italy. Can't say the same for our visit to France.

Joe_in_Silver_Spring Aug 3rd, 2003 02:58 PM

Paris (during the early days of the Iraq war--people were very gracious) and Scotland in April. We're still deciding between Cuba (i.e., not Europe) or Spain for the fall.

Danie Aug 3rd, 2003 03:07 PM

Spain for two weeks in May, Amsterdam this week and a Meditarenean cruise in October (rome to lisbon).
Happy travels all.

EnglishOne Aug 3rd, 2003 03:17 PM

January - Malta
March/April - Rome
May/June - USA- NOLA & Memphis(this was more exciting to me than Europe!!)
July - Prague
August - Paris
September - Majorca - a girly holiday!
Then nothing for the rest of the year :(
Unless you count England for all remaining days :)

simpsonc510 Aug 3rd, 2003 03:21 PM

Twice last year, Italy in April, and then a Mediterranean cruise and Italy tour in June. I've only gone once this year, to Switzerland in April. Next trip will probably next April again, and possible to Italy or perhaps Germany this time.

Janda, this is a wonderful thread you started. It's so exciting seeing where all these familiar names have gone and are going! It brings the world to us, for just one small moment, in the reading.

I've noticed that quite a few people have traveled twice or more during the year. I'm curious....what do you do that you can take so much time off or are you retired? I have a total of 3 weeks vacation at work and given all the days I might need for miscellaneous appts, I had to carefully budget my 2 weeks for Italy.

So, I'm curious, retired? lots of vacation time? independly wealthy?

I'm envious of all of you. :)

Paris in April

Italy (Rome, Venice, Lakes) in October.
