So you got into a trendy new restaurant? Congratulations I guess.

Be sure to post up a trip report.

TPAYT Jan 13th, 2015 05:08 AM

Lucky you! You know we'll all be waiting for your review & photos on that one.

Kathie Jan 13th, 2015 11:09 AM

Looking forward to your review!

I just Googled "Clover Restaurant Paris" and this thread from Joan was the 4th one listed. Nice job Joan. Maybe we'll give it a try in October.

I have a reservation at Buccan in Palm Beach for Saturday night!!

Anyone else with pending reservations???

LynFrance Jan 14th, 2015 09:48 AM

Buccan in Palm Beach is one of our considerably overrated restaurants. Was trendy last year. Don't know about this year.

latebloomer Jan 14th, 2015 10:31 AM

"Congratulations, I guess." Really??

I'm no shrinking violet, but truly, I don't understand the point of this kind of snarky remark. OP obviously is delighted to have secured a reservation and to share the news with others. For those who don't care or disapprove of OP's views and interests, why belittle her?

There are many wonderful people on this site, but the rude and condescending few need to find their inner voices. Ick.

latebloomer Jan 14th, 2015 10:32 AM

And their "inside" voices.

kerouac Jan 14th, 2015 10:42 AM

But we don't know if it is any good yet, just that it is difficult to get a reservation. People would have to be extremely dogmatic to automatically think that the place is a sensation until Gracejoan tells us about the experience.

Here's the chowhound thread on Clover:

[eks, I've got a rez at Kin Khao in SF on Friday night.]

ekscrunchy Jan 14th, 2015 01:42 PM

Lyn: Buccan may or not be "trendy" but their food is far better than any I have sampled in the area during the past two winters and the current one. The chef is a Beard nominee, so I guess I am not alone in my opinion here.

Coicidentally, Cafe Clover just opened in NYC.

Hi, Leely!

Here is the NYC link:

Leely you are lucky to live in such a food-rich city!

Escrunchy, I think that clover is one of a chair of health conscious restaurants. One has opened around the corner where I live. i'll check further.

Leely2 Jan 14th, 2015 02:24 PM

Hi, eks! Enjoy your vacation.

Unfortunately, food rich = wallet poor at times.

We'll see if the OP likes the Paris Clover. Another JF Piège restaurant.

Speaking of the 7th, I had a long, leisurely lunch at David Toutain this summer and it was excellent. My only really decadent meal in Paris (had just gone hog wild in Rome and Bologna).

kerouac Jan 14th, 2015 02:32 PM

I have certainly lost track of what we are obliged to think about this place. I'm not sure if it is obligatory to agree with reviews or if any leeway is allowed for a different opinion if one goes to such a place.

Maybe it is all linked together so that all similar places must be loved without question.

How do they clean those pavers? I am not sure I would enjoy that meal.

kerouac Jan 14th, 2015 03:01 PM

They probably force anybody wanting a reservation to do it for them.

EmileZola Jan 14th, 2015 04:23 PM

I just wondering where is the OP?
