(D-oh! I probably should have mentioned.for people who don't know HTML... You have to have &lt;B&gt;Bold <b>ended</b> with &lt;/B&gt; to end the bold. Otherwise, you're whole post (and possibly everyone elses posts afterwards?) becomes bold? Hmmm... That might not be so good for fodors... (Obviously ditto for each type of tag (bold, underline, etc)) <b><i>(I'm not closing this italic <u>or</u> bold tag, let's see if it makes everything from now on bold and italic.)</i></b>

BozoTheClown May 16th, 2003 09:06 PM

(I guess this will test if this becomes bold and italic, since I didn't close the tags above.) But, in other news, it's curious that the mac doesn't handle &euro; as &amp;euro;, but, it <b>still</b> handles your typing it in directly through the keyboard.

Thanks Bozo! We have an ancient billing system at work, which has refused to accept any previous attempts at displaying a euro sign. I'll try this out on Monday morning.

I wonder if our clients would appreciate &hearts; signs on their bills too!

That's ace. I'm not sure if I want to know the answer to this, but can someone tell me why, when I type a Euro sign as intended by this pc, and it appears as a euro sign in the text here whilst I'm typing, it turns into a y when I post it?

my mac (G4, system 10.2.6) <b>does</b> handle it.

For those who aren't seeing some of the symbols referenced and described.... it's most likely because your browser software doesn't support it. Older versions of MS IE Explorer are different than newer ones, Netscape is also different and AOL's version of the Netscape browser is yet another wrinkle.

Bozo, you're amazing! Headed out for a little run and then back to try bold, italic, and colors! Wow!
