"They end up this series in Milwaulkee. My sister and Brother-In-Law were there in Sept and saw the filming. They won't tell me anything though"

According to wikipedia, they started filming Amazing Race 9 in November '05.

I just found this posting and LOVE IT. We are big fans of the Amazing Race. I think this season has a lot of funny teams...No need to be hard on the "hippies" they are funny and I do believe will play dirty. The "nerds" are my favorite right now, they know they are nerdy and that makes them cool. They seem to get along very well and that will be an advantage. Did anyone catch the comment MOJO's team made towards Lake..calling him Scott Peterson....PLEASE TELL ME SOMEONE HEARD THIS REMARK????

Premiered last night Seven Network 9.30pm. in Australia. Seems like they travel Down Under this time according to station promos.

Well let's see.... the Rolling Stones Concert was on September 8th in Milwaukee, so unless my sister was lying about seeing the Amazing Race in Milwaukee, wilkipedia is wrong.

rbs,

Yes, I also heard the Scott Peterson remark and commented to my husband about it. ( There is a slight resemblance in both temperment and looks)

DKW~

My fiance and I looked at each other regarding that comment and my jaw dropped. That is a big insult in my opinion, maybe when he watches THE RACE back he'll change his attitude a bit.....

What great TV...can't wait to see what happens next.

RBS,

I have to say, the comment made me laugh out loud. It seemed spot on! I agree that calling someone Scott Peterson is about as big an insult as you can throw at them!!!

Sorry, AM9 wasn't filming yet in September. Draw your own conclusions...

Jules: Thanks for your comments. I didn't mean to imply that there's nothing positive in Sao Paolo, just that I was disappointed not to see some of those positives. This certainly would not deter me from visiting though, as my husband is very interested in seeing Brazil. I'm sure it is a very interesting diverse country. We met a lovely Brazilian couple at Cafe Tortoni in BsAs. They shared a table with us during a tango show. They spoke excellent English so we were able to visit (we manage in Spanish, but have no knowledge of Portuguese). Very enjoyable evening.

I live in Indonesia and thanks to AXN we get the Amazing Race here - it comes on the day after it airs in the US and I'm seriously hooked.

FYI - They're currently seeking contestants for an Amazing Race Asia. Don't know if it will air in the US, but should add to our limited TV programming in this part of the world.

Again, as in past shows it is totally crucial to get a good taxi-cab driver. That's always the wild-card that no one has control over. And again it is very helpful to have somewhat of a grasp of the local language. I wonder if the contestants try picking up a smattering of many languages before they actually leave on the race???

CiCi -- Teams don't know where they will be going, so there's no knowing what langueage they should learn.

Wikipedia's dates are correct. The race began filming on November 7th in Denver. A confirmed sighting of teams headed back to the U.S. (I won't say where they were or where they were going) confirms the ending date of December 3.

They will still be in Brazil for the next episode deeper into the interior, it appears.

They will be in Australia -- in the west this time. Japan will be a new destination.

Keith -- the only time they've had a roadblock in the first leg of the race was the very first season. And it was edited out, anyway.

The producers provide so much extra web and DVD material. I wonder why they never provide the complete rules?

Keith

Barbara Mar 7th, 2006 06:25 AM

Because the rules are tweaked with every new season.

Keith Mar 7th, 2006 06:32 AM

Not to be argumentative, but so are the rules for football, but they still publish them.

Keith

Barbara Mar 7th, 2006 07:25 AM

Pretty soon football rules will be like Encyclopedia Brittanica!

For TAR, Wikipedia has the rules, but as you say, they've never been published by TAR. If you click this link, beware of possible spoilers.

Wiki isn't very trustworthy. Anyone can post there and it presents the opinions of the last person to make an entry.

We can go there and post what we think the rules are and that is what the next person visiting the site will see.

What Keith said. That's the whole MO of Wikipedia.

dkw Mar 7th, 2006 01:50 PM

Well, I stand corrected.....I guess my Sister is crazy :) It wouldn't have been the first time she got something wrong!!! But in her defense, I did see an actual photo of Mick Jagger she took (from the back, but it was most assuredly him).

Barbara Mar 7th, 2006 02:19 PM

Then, Keith, if it's so important to you, why don't you write to the producers of the show, because you're just going to complain about anything else. Bottom line is, they don't ahve to tell YOU the rules because YOU are not competing.

Keith Mar 7th, 2006 02:30 PM

Dear Barbara, I knew I probably shouldn't have "but so..." the first time :-), but the second one I couldn't possibly resist. Wiki is one of my pet peeves - in part because I keep catching people uploading my pictures to the site.

Thanks for the replies.

Keith
(Hoping to see some real sights on tonight's show, not just congested cities and airports)
