David, you should have been at the celebration in Boston after the Patriots won the Super Bowl (that's American football).
British museum and Camden town. I know, both tourist places, but I really spent two days in British museum and found such great old tableware and jewellery from Camden market.

Vita,
Thank-you so very much for starting this post. I will be in London in Sept. for only 2 nites but you all have given me such good ideas of things to see and do. Thanks again.
Vicki

Don't you have cadbury's in the US?
And I wouldn't say British people are polite particularly.
Hehe I like London too though. I buy lots of clothes and stuff when I am there.
The Cadbury's that's sold in the US is a different formulation/recipe from what's sold in the UK.
Just got back last night from six days in London. Have to add a few more favorites:
Evensong at St. Pauls and Westminister
Lunch at the top of the Tate Modern
Finding special prints at the Map Shop
Watching the actors take breaks in between scenes while we had a pint at the Stage Door Pub
#? The RAF Museum
Susan!!
We have two of the best bird lithographs from the Map Shop!!(sort of Audobon style) What fun it is to go through all the prints and lithographs, how nice to see it mentioned here:)
The men, and their accents. and their way with words. (it appears that everyone else has captured everything else effectively...)
Don't forget Wimbledon- slightly outside the city, but you get there on the tube from London in 15 mins. Go for the museum if you're not there during The Championships.
Those incredibly simple and beautiful Tube maps.

Evensong services at St. Paul's

Pubs!
The Food Hall at Harrods! Those trays put Martha Stewart to shame!
Toppin for London Suggestion.
Sitting in Berkeley Square early in the morning watching for ghosts in Maggs Booksellers.

Strolling in Mayfair.

Rules for dinner.

Just knowing that no matter what you're doing, you're doing it in LONDON!
Walking through the underground halls of "the Tube" and hearing music being played by a distant musician - as the wind rushes by from a departing train (aaauuuhhh)!
Topping for Susan.
