Last Anon -- that's my point exactly. Anyone and everyone is of course welcome to post whatever they want. That is the beauty of this board. But for first time visitors, the Search box might bring up an answer without requiring a posted question. And the answer/information is immediate. No waiting minutes, hours, days. No need to ttt the post back to the top.

If you got the impression I was saying people shouldn't post here, just because every 11th post is a "Which Sandals..."
that's not what I'm saying at all. I'm just saying Fodors should help by explaining how Search works, and by explaining how to find posts beyond the last 50 (which, on some days is only 4 hours worth).
By the way, I also disagree with the first poster's (pina) premise of separate boards for AIs and wedding/honeymoons. I think there is a wonderful synergy created by having those posts within this board.

There are also many other ways of getting great info before doing a search on this board:
- Google, type in the name of the island or resort and many websites will appear (magic!!)
- Travel magazine websites - islands.com, Conde Nast Traveller, Travel& leisure, etc...
- All resorts have a website, many with views of rooms, restaurants, beaches and many answers to your questions and an 800# (wow what a concept!).
-Contact a Travel Agent
you can always post a question here after getting a better perspective of what you are asking.

These steps take a little more effort. Apparently not many want to have an active part in their vacation decision making. In the time it takes to post a broad question and check for replies, you can have it answered by searching it yourself. Then ask any questions that have not been answered.

myopinion Jan 14th, 2003 05:42 AM

Man, I'm sure Fodors loves the way you guys practically run off people from their board. I think the purpose of this board was for people to come and ask whatever questions they would like, however many times they want to.

I believe if you read the guidelines for this board, it doesn't say - before you ask a question do a search so that you don't bother people who have already read that same question. People shouldn't have to worry about bothering you guys by asking a redundant question. They can ask whatever they please, same as you. If you don't like it, don't answer, move on, and get over yourself!!

I agree with a previous poster, if you don't like the subject line, then move on. Go to the next question. If you're tired of reading what's being asked, then move to another board...or better yet, why don't you all create your own! Then we can get rid of all the negativitiy on this board!

Anon Jan 14th, 2003 05:48 AM

If everyone thought that way and posted inane questions, there would be no answers, just a lot of questions!

No one is running anyone from this board, just educating them on how to get better, more specific answers.

zzzzz! Jan 14th, 2003 05:52 AM

Here's one. If you don't like it, GET OFF!! You should be able to tell the nature of most posts by it's title. Aren't there more important things in this world to bitch about? You guys are so petty it's sickening. And if you don't like weddingmoon, let's hear your great ideas. And don't say "wedding and honeymoon."

myopinion Jan 14th, 2003 05:53 AM

Oh, so you mean educating them on how to use the board the way YOU use the board, or the way it would better suit YOU. Sorry, Anon....we're not here for YOU.

myopinion Jan 14th, 2003 05:55 AM

Exactly, zzzzz

Anon Jan 14th, 2003 06:03 AM

Sorry yourself, since there are more people with questions and less to answer them. Please feel free to ttt your questions and hope they get answered in an educated manner. I don't need to know how to use this board, but there seems to be a lot of stupid questions here and you know what that means don't you???

Have fun Stupid! You have just proven what this board has turned into.

myopinion Jan 14th, 2003 06:11 AM

So now Anon has resort to calling names. I'm glad you won't be answering any of my questions because I'd prefer to never hear from you again.

curious Jan 14th, 2003 06:14 AM

May I ask a question. What is "ttt"? I see it as a response to a lot of posts.

zzzzz! Jan 14th, 2003 06:25 AM

It's not only questions about AI's that get asked over and over again. What about Cap Jaluca? I know more about that place than I'll ever need. And, everything about that place has been answered ten times over. But now, I simply skip over the posts I don't care to read. What's so difficult in that?

Anon Jan 14th, 2003 06:29 AM

ttt means "to the top". It is used when a question has not been answered and to post the question to the top of the list.

I used the name Anon for this posted question only. It is too bad that I will not be answering your questions, since you do not know my
Fodors name. I am a travel professional and have been for 25 years. I have been to places you have only dreamed of. My experience and knowledge has help many people here. In this case Stupid is an adjective. Stupid is as Stupid does....ie: you.

Jamie Jan 14th, 2003 06:43 AM

zzzzz
One thing you did not learn is how to spell it right. I guess you don't know as much as you thought you did!

aaa Jan 14th, 2003 06:44 AM

isn't that was Forrest Gumps Mom use to say??

Scott Jan 14th, 2003 06:46 AM

Are you kidding me?

I have never heard such nonsense in all my life. For those of you that are "bored", "tired", "sick of" anything on this site...hmmmm...here an idea...LEAVE. Whew! that was tough to figure out!

Here all you spoiled little brats take the time to complain about how much this board sucks now, and how you don't like the subjects...Why is it you can't figure out to simply go do something else with your time if it's "so" bad here at Fodors???

Am I missing something here? Is it too much work for you spoiled little jerkoffs to simply scroll past the subject that don't interest you? Too much strain on your mouse hand? Get a life you pathetic complaining loosers!!!
Go back to getting your noses & asses wiped for you. Unbelievable!!

zzzzz! Jan 14th, 2003 07:03 AM

Hey Jamie: Exactly what word did I not spell correctly? Besides, I never claimed to know it all; unlike you I'm sure. At least I don't read into things that aren't there. I'm a know it all? Where the hell did that come from?

JustCurious Jan 14th, 2003 07:16 AM

Scott,

I have a question for you? If this post bothered you so much why did you respond in an angry name calling way? I think you should re-read your post and take your own advice, sans the name calling. How can you post a reply to a question that angers you. You are a joke - you are telling people to "scroll past it" and you can't even do it yourself.

Jamie Jan 14th, 2003 07:22 AM

Its spelled JULUCA not jaluca, just so you know:)

Scott Jan 14th, 2003 07:22 AM

Hey JustCurious,

Here's a news flash for ya, I'M NOT THE ONE COMPLAINING!!! I happen to love this site. I have the unbelievable ability to scroll past subject that are uninteresting to me. This post needed an answer. What don't you understand? Angry? You bet! I'm not tired & bored of Fodors, just tired & bored of useless idiots that complain about everything that doesn't go their way. And I'm a joke?....Get real

zzzzz! Jan 14th, 2003 07:28 AM

I'm with you all the way Scott! Now if everybody could acquire that efficient skill of skipping posts they don't like, that you and I possess, we'd all be happy.

Hey pina, if you wanna vent, vent elsewhere. WE DON'T CARE.
