Going to Siboney Beach Club @ Dickenson Bay for New Years--have heard nothing but great things about it! For the person who is looking for a small resort--this may be the place--it has only 12 cottages--we have rented Room #9 & hear it has the best views. Will come back after our trip (Jan 3rd) & give a report!

I've been going to Antigua for 18 years now (usually on a yacht) or for the boat show in December. I was delighted to find 2 new, very different but very good restaurants on the island. <BR>HQ, in historical English Harbour is situated in the old Officer's Quarters, a finer location you will not find. Very high standard of food, Auzzie chef lends Asian flair. Delightful staff. Extensive wine list. <BR> <BR>Quite different and near St. John's (cabs can't find it), is Papa Zouk. Very local style, fabulous fresh fish and a great boullabaisse! A simple wine list - red or white! <BR> <BR>My favorite places to stay are Admiral's Inn and the beautiful old Copper & Lumber Store.

Judy-If you have any questions about Jumby Bay, we have been there twice. It is a very relaxing place. Very nice choice!

Penny - In April '99, we rented a villa, jeep and spent two weeks in St. Croix driving around, shopping, cooking, boating, relaxing and soaking up local flavor. An all inclusive resort package might be too structured or too crowded. We enjoy being able to get in the car and go. Was Jumby Bay too small or limited, and was it difficult to leave for a day or an hour to go to St. John and back. Being all inclusive, does this overly restrict us from fine dining experiences elsewhere. Are there any? How long does it take to see all of Antigua and its points of interest - one or two days. Hi Judy- <BR> <BR>In answer to your questions: <BR> <BR>YES, being all-inclusive DOES limit your enjoyment of Antigua's many fine restaurants. Personally, I think a Modified American Plan or Partial Inclusive is the way to go on Antigua so that you can still get out and see the island a bit. No matter what, be sure and go to the party at Shirley Heights on Sunday evening! <BR> <BR>I would allow at least two days to see Antigua's historic sights. The English Harbour area is really neat and well-restored, and the ruins of the various forts are also neat. The rain forest, while small, and other natural sights, such as Devil's Bridge, are great as well. <BR> <BR>For more info on Antigua, try www.antigua-barbuda.org

Judy-Jumby Bay as you know is a small private island. You do feel like a guest and one of the rich and famous. We only stay 3 nights and combine this with Anguilla, as our flight always stops in Antigua on the flight home. Yes you are correct that the all inclusive does limit your dining. We do that on Anguilla. <BR>The resort is a very short trip on a private ferry, just 5 minutes from the airport. It is very easy to go back and forth to the mainland as the ferries run quite frequently. Have you thought of combing Jumby with another resort on Antigua. One at the other end of the island from the airport?

Mary, I sent you a trip report. The casinos are small and uneventful. And if you play table games be prepared for a lot of people who dont know how to play. I'm a very serious gambler and I had to leave a few times.....splitting 10's will make you do that if you know what I mean! But if your a slots player you 'll be fine. Good luck, and never split a winning hand!
