Going to Guyana islands is going too far...
|
I'm really stumped on this one but I'll make another stab at it. St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I hope. :-)
|
Something off the coast of Venezuela, then...the Tortugas? I don't know any others and I don't want to cheat by Googling.
|
O.k. Tiv...I know it's one of those Venezuelan islands. Chavez & America are definitely not friends and Venezuela is economically helpful to the other countries in the region.
So how about Los Roques? :D The National Marine Park is apparently one of the largest in the region, white beaches, crystal clear waters... Come on...tell me I'm right! :) This is a really good trivia question Tiv ;) |
ej, I had to cheat on this one! ;)
Here's the justification: these places are so "virgin" that I've barely even heard of them! :)) They all look really nice though. Especially Los Roques. |
JA GIRL: Yuh nuh reach yet... but so close....
Congratulations, you've arrived on Gran Roque in LOS ROQUES. Most of the streets are sand. A few pousdadas/guesthouses, one or two quite stylish, but all simple. Unpack. settle in, have drinks, dinner, sleep and stir yourself awake before first light = you still got a bit of travel ahead next morning. Your final destination is a 30 min.boat ride away. Nah vex yuhself/don't worry, refreshments also await you.... |
Clues: Head west of Gran Roque and in
30 minutes time or so, search for Juanita. The pelicans will point the way. |
Since this is way-off-the-charts territory to most, go here:
http://www.venezuelatuya.com/losroques/indexeng.htm and you'll find your ultimate destination. |
And if I threw you off track by using
Portuguese 'pousada' instead of Spanish 'posada', my apologies. My head often turns south to Brazil. |
Ya got me on that Tiv. I thought the same thing. :-)
|
Located a short distance to the west of Gran Roque, I can reach it in 30 minutes to an hour by boat.
There I should find a restaurant where I could enjoy the catch of the day. Unforunately I don't eat fish. ;) So instead, I'll just enjoy the view and the excellent service from Juanita on the beautiful island of CRASQUI!!!!!! That has got to be it!!! :D Oh it looks lovely!! Tiv, listen nuh man, if Crasqui isn't the one...well...you all can go ahead to the ultimate destination. I'll stay right in Crasqui!! :)) |
Give that girl a Red Stripe. Its hurrah beer. :D :D
|
Here's one. Which country in the has both the highest and lowest points in the Caribbean? :-)
|
Puerto Rico?? (a guess)
Christie |
Pretty good guess Christie but no Red Stripe for you. Yet. :D :D
|
At 18,792 square miles, the Dominican Republic is nearly twice as large as its immediate neighbor, and it has the distinction of encompassing both the highest and lowest elevations in the Caribbean. Its highest point, Pico Duarte, rises 10,417 feet above the sea, while a little more than one hundred miles to the south, Isla Cabritos, an island in Lago Enriquillo, lies 131 feet below sea level.
I was feeling a little thirsty this morning, JW. |
CS: :D :D Yah mon. Not tristy now are ya? :S-
|
Congrats CS...you were probably in need of a Red Stripe right about now!:S-
Christie |
GOLD STAR for navigation goes to JAGIRL
for reaching CRASQUI first. And it's worth all the aggro getting them..... Back to JA:Stop in at the bar at CAFE AUBERGINE in Moneaque and toast yourself with a cognac, an excuse to try their desserts, at least. |
OK guys and gals try this one. What Caribbean island was the only foreign land George Washington ever set foot upon? :-)
