I’m looking for some travel tips as I start planning a WA trip, so I’ll probably post a few more threads about the various spots I’m hoping to visit over the next year.
One place I’ve got my heart set on is Karijini, but I’ve heard it can get insanely hot. I don’t mind a bit of heat, but I’d rather not end up sweating through every hike or skipping gorges because it’s too dangerous.
Has anyone been around April or May? Is it still warm enough to swim but not unbearable for hiking? I’d love to get a feel for the best window to go without roasting. Any insights would be appreciated!

Hi Harvie,
I notice you have quite a few posts up and not too many responses. Unfortunately, the Fodors Australian forum isn't very active these days .... I suggest you head over to Trip Advisor's Australian forum where there's a lot of willing and able local & frequent visitors who will be happy to help you plan your trip.
Sorry I can't help - I'm on the other side of the country & have really only been to Perth & a bit around it yet.
All the best

Just found photos of my son and his 8 month old daughter in a back pack walking there. They went walked into most of the gorges. probably about May. Lots of swimming too. Then again the family lived in the Kimberleys and are used to hot. It looks beautiful
April and May are great for Karijini—warm enough for swimming, but generally much more comfortable for hiking than the peak summer heat.
