I got really excited about the Prime Minister's latest press release! Much more excited than I would about looking at other people's untidy body appearance.

Garry_L Sep 22nd, 2004 08:26 PM

lizF,

actually I have my most tidy body appearance when I am completely in the buff!

Marsketa,

I'm thinking of heading to Byron this weekend. Wondering if you are going down that way again soon?

lizF Sep 24th, 2004 01:01 PM

Actually Marsketa I was thinking of hiring myself out for people like yourself who want to bathe nude. We just find a beach anywhere and I drop my daks for you and clear the area in no time flat! Then you can have the area to yourself to do whatever you want - whatchareckon?

Rahul,
There are three legal nude beaches in Sydney Harbour. There is Cobblers and Oblisk at Mosman. And there is Lady Beach as well.

Marsketa Oct 6th, 2004 07:15 AM

LizF,
Q. What is the difference between the PM's policy speach and a nude person on a beach?
A. With a nude person there is complete honesty, nothing to hide and what you see is what you get!
With the PM's policy speech there is much to hide in his dishonesty and what he promises is NOT what you get!

Marsketa Oct 6th, 2004 07:24 AM

Garry,
I won't be down at Byron Bay until November OK.
LizF: Just one small misconception I want to clear up. Nudists don't go to a beach just to get their gear off! We go for a chance to catch up with friends (other Nudists). I'm into social nudisty not just stripping off on a deserted beach. If you came down to a nude beach like Alexandria Bay, Noosa, you would understand that nudists don't care about body shape. People come in all different shapes and sizes. It is their personality that is more important to us. On a weekend we get about 200 nudists at the south end alone each day in summer! And I know most of them by first name and to talk to. This would never be the case at a "textile" beach.

Marsketa -
Thanx a lot for your help in getting some names. Im going to try and find them on the net. Im going to be in New Castle area so if YOU or anyone else knows of something closer to there, then that would be tremendous. I hope most of the people on these beaches are mature. The last time I saw maturity at a nude beach was along a river in Munich with my dad when i was about 8. Well do KIT. I'll be visitin here frequently until my depature dec 19th.

Rahul,
You ask about nude beaches near Newcastle? Well there is a legla nude beach at Samarai Beach, near Anna Bay, Port Stephens. It has 4WD access but otherwise is a long walk in. There is also Birdie Beach to the north which is legal as well. NSW now has 9 legal nude beaches. Legal status has recently been granted to Shelley's Beach near Forester on the Central Coast. Hope this helps.

Also just a footnote to an eirlier discussion regarding "Nudie Beach" on Fitzroy Island near Cairns. My information is that Fitzroy Island is owned by the resort and is therefore private property and not a public place. The resort at Fitzroy Island advertises Nudie Beach as a Clothes optional beach for it's guests. Therefore I assume it is legal to go nude on Nudie Beach, Fitzroy Island.

After yet another drowning at Alexandria Bay, Noosa, I would like to advise tourists unfamiliar with big surf and rips NOT to swim there. We are saddened when visitors drown at our beach. Each year, Local nudists who are regulars at the beach risk their lives rescuing people who get into difficulty whilst swimming there. There is no Mobile phone coverage except at the top of the cliff looking towards Coolum. There is a land phone at the northern end but the beach is 1km long. Even when the alarm is raised, the lifesavers will take a further 10 minutes to reach the beach by boat, helicopter or up to 20 minutes by 4WD. If you have to swim at the beach please swim with others, only go in waist deep and avoid deep swim holes which are a sure sign of a rip developing!

I will be in Sydney from Dec. 27-Dec. 31, 2005. What is the best nude beach in the Sydney area. I won't have a car and will be using public transit.

Thanks

Wally,

If you're still looking for info, try:

A great resource for any free beachers travelling to Australia, or for anyone who wants to try something "different" when they're a long way from home!
