Markesta - Headlines in today's (Sat 7) Cairns Post: NUDE WARS - Beach bash raw deal claims resort operator EXCLUSIVE - article is too lengthy to repeat here - the gist is that Tropical Australia Naturism Assoc has distributed leaflets featuring fig-leaf wearing female with invitation to beach bbq, nude beach olympics, Mr and Mrs Nude Beach contest - lifeguard and security in attendance. Comment from Tony Fox of White Cockatoo, Mossman "it could be a hoax, a resident inadvertently garnering his business exposure, or a bunch of idiots with no concept of reality" which he says he "sadly thinks is the latter". Constable Luke Stephenson of Port Douglas police, said organisers would receive a warning early on August 22.

Article goes on the say that Tony Fox is leading the charge to have a nude beaches legalised in Douglas Shire and has had positive discussions with the State Govt. and he feels illegal nude activities will jeopardise that.

As someone said, after a certain age the best form of birth control is nudity. In view of our falling birthrate, can we afford more nudists?

Marsketa Aug 7th, 2004 07:16 AM

Oh dear Neil Oz,
What can I say?
Someone once said to me that it was better to remain silent and apear the fool than speak up and remove all doubt!

Marsketa Aug 7th, 2004 07:20 AM

Pat,
Interesting information RE article. I have looked for it on net but not found article but will be talking with a few friends. Thanks for that.

Neil_Oz Aug 9th, 2004 02:37 AM

Marsketa, I'm glad you didn't follow that advice, or this thread would have sunk long ago. Deservedly, some might say.

Marsketa Aug 10th, 2004 06:28 AM

Can anyone tell me about this Pretty Beach that the Nude Family Beach day is being organised at? Is it suitable?
Also does anybody know anything about the group who is organising the event?
TANA apparently doesn't have a web site or phone contact? Is it legitimate or a hoax?

Marsketa Aug 12th, 2004 05:35 AM

Maybe someone should organise a nude family picnic day when the Nude Cruise Ship arrives.

covenud Aug 13th, 2004 11:56 AM

There are numerous beaches that are private and secluded along the coast in Far North Queensland but keep in mind that none of them are legal nude beaches. Take your pick.

Garry_L Aug 13th, 2004 07:55 PM

I am heading to Byron Bay next weekend and want to spend as much naked time as possible. Wanting to know if there is anyone else going there with similar interest in being nude.

Neil_Oz Aug 14th, 2004 01:30 AM

Really, this thread is getting just a little odd. Is there not a separate forum somewhere to cater for these people's specialised tastes?

Marsketa Aug 14th, 2004 03:50 AM

Garry,
Would you be going to Tyagarah Beach from Gray's Lane (the legal nude beach) or Kings Beach at Broken Heads?
We are hoping to go to Rainbow Beach this weekend (illegal of course) but will be down Byron Bay way September 19th.

Garry_L Aug 14th, 2004 04:47 AM

Marsketa, I've enjoyed Tyagarah before which I think is absolutely fantastic and very accessible. If you like, please contact me about your trip to Rainbow Beach.

Marsketa Aug 18th, 2004 03:11 AM

Garry,
Rianbow Beach was difficult- too many "textiles" everywhere!

Marsketa Aug 19th, 2004 12:12 AM

I understand that Channel 7 will be at Pretty beach on Sunday to "cover" the events of the day! What do you think they will find?
(a) Nudists enjoying their nude family day in peace?
(b) The beach will be empty because most nudists realise it is a hoax?
(c) Moralist groups protesting with or without nudists being present?
(d) Police arresting nudist for indecent exposure?
(e) All of the above?
(f) other (please specify)?

Marsketa Aug 21st, 2004 03:08 AM

Let me know what happens on Pretty Beach this Sunday please.

Marsketa Aug 22nd, 2004 04:11 AM

Well the correct answer to the Pretty Beach Question was
(b) The beach was empty because most nudist realised it was a hoax
Did you all get that right?

Neil_Oz Aug 22nd, 2004 04:30 AM

And does anyone (Marsketa excluded) actually care? I'm not against off-topic discussions as long as they're entertaining; but as much as nudist beaches devoted to the display of excess cellulite may be a matter of consuming interest to one or two posters, and in the right hands could even be funny, this thread is marginally less exciting than the Prime Minister's latest press release.

Marsketa Aug 22nd, 2004 04:34 PM

So Neil,
Why do you always respond to it then? Some of the other topics are dead boring to me but I just ignore them. So why don't you just ignore this one then?
You seem to have such a poor body image and I really feel sorry for you onthat account.
At least we agree on one thing:- tha Prime Minister is just plain boring!

Marsketa Aug 28th, 2004 05:59 AM

Well I think I've achieved what I set out to do with this! Thanks for your support Neil-Oz. Without your continued posts I couldn't have kept this going quite so long. LOL Now that's funny!

Rahul Sep 20th, 2004 01:00 PM

So I never got it. Are there any nude beaches in Sydney/Chittaway Point area? thats where Ill be and want to get some good sun where need be.
